Impressive "feast cooking" meal of Khoai Lang Thang

The story of "cooking a feast" (Khoai Lang Thang's words) for 50 children living at the center in the slum of Kibera, Kenya was divided into three separate clips on Facebook.

Khoai tells the journey from going to the market with everyone to buy ingredients, then to the Kenyan way of cooking.

Khoai's storytelling is simple, informative, and full of interesting images. For example, in Kenya, tomatoes, onions, and cabbage are bought by the fruit, not by the kilogram like in Vietnam. Their way of cutting vegetables is also different.

In the clip, Khoai Lang Thang also shares how to cook dishes from beef and chicken.

Boiled beef is divided into two dishes:

Pilao: After boiling the beef, take the pot, add the shallots and fry them until hot, then lightly fry the beef. Then add the grated ginger and minced garlic. Wash the rice and put it in the pot and mix well. Add the beef broth, add the Masala seasoning, add the tomato sauce, and cook the rice.

Beef and potato soup : Fry beef in oil, add shallots, bell peppers and tomatoes. Then, add potatoes and stir-fry, add broth until soft.

Chapati : This is a traditional Kenyan cake. The ingredients are flour mixed with chopped red carrots and baked on the stove.

Fried Chicken : This dish is quite simple, including chicken marinated with ginger, a little salt and then fried.

Meals that touch the heart

Travel blogger Khoai Lang Thang's real name is Dinh Vo Hoai Phuong, from Ben Tre . He is familiar in the community of people who love to travel and explore.

Khoai Lang Thang shared in the clip that the idea for this party came from a visit he made to the Kibera slum in Kenya, Africa, and learned about this children's center.

The children here only have one meal a week with meat, the rest of the time they eat vegetables and starch. Fruit is almost non-existent because it is only for the well-off families.
