Movement creates spread

Implementing breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation, since April 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has launched a movement to foster creativity and initiative at local Labor Federations.

From here, the creative labor movement has truly created a strong spread among the working class and laborers, not only bringing hundreds of billions of dong in benefits to businesses but also contributing to improving productivity and labor quality, thereby promoting the sustainable development of the economy .

Typically, in Da Nang , Mr. Duong Van Dam at Lovepop Vietnam Co., Ltd. designed and implemented an automatic paper feeding and picking system. This is an initiative that not only helps reduce labor but also significantly increases productivity, especially when the company needs to meet strict requirements from international customers. This initiative also helps the company reduce labor costs by 30%, showing the important role of innovation in improving production efficiency.

In Nghe An, from 2023 to now, 137 union members and workers have been awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Initiatives from workers such as engineer To Quang Thuc at Tan Thang Cement Company have helped improve production processes, increase labor productivity while minimizing environmental impact.

At the exhibition "Creative Journey - Aspiration to Rise" recently organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the creative achievements of workers made viewers admire such as: Research and manufacturing products, programming, and improvement of electronic circular sewing machines that automatically translate and cut according to the installed program by the group of authors Pham Van Thuan and Nguyen Phu Dung of May 10 Company. Or the Tam Dao 05 self-elevating drilling rig model that affirmed the intelligence of the Vietnamese engineering team...

Engineer Phan Tu Giang, representative of the project's author group, said that if the Tam Dao 03 platform had to hire a total of 43,000 working hours from foreign experts, the Tam Dao 05 platform would only need 11,000 hours, increasing the localization value to 76 million USD, accounting for 39% of the total 202 million USD work value.

In the context of an increasingly developing economy and deep integration into the international market, encouraging innovation among workers and employees has become an important factor to increase productivity, improve product quality and ensure sustainable development for businesses. Businesses today are clearly aware of the role of science, technology and innovation in production, not only helping them maintain competitiveness but also contributing to the overall development of the economy.

Phong Phu International Joint Stock Company is a typical example in developing the creative labor movement. In 2023, the company had more than 900 technical innovation initiatives participating in the "1 million initiatives" program of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. These initiatives not only help improve labor productivity but also ensure stable product quality, with an average productivity increase of 5-7%.

In addition to encouraging innovation, businesses today are also actively applying scientific and technological advances in production. Idea Technical Solutions Joint Stock Company, with a strategy of using science and technology as a lever for development, has applied a digital system in internal management, from operating processes to projects, helping to optimize and shorten work processing time. At the same time, the company also promotes the application of Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) technology in production, opening up new development potential.

Strongly spread Resolution 57

According to Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, innovation, digital transformation and the application of advanced technologies are key factors for sustainable growth. The creative labor movement needs to be deployed more widely and strongly, not only to help businesses increase productivity but also to contribute to the goal of developing the digital economy and improving national competitiveness.

The creative labor movement has been growing strongly in many localities, creating positive effects not only for businesses but also for the whole society. The combination of innovation, digital transformation and sustainable development will be an important key for Vietnam to achieve its socio-economic development goals in the coming years, while improving global competitiveness.

Discuss new technology applications.

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam is ranked 44th in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2025, with a score of 37.1, maintaining a stable position compared to the previous year. Innovation is identified as an important driving force for Vietnam to become a high-income country by 2045. The Party and State have issued many policies to promote innovation, including Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on innovation and digital transformation, with the goal that by 2045, Vietnam will be among the top 30 countries.

To realize the above goal, the Vietnamese Government has implemented many policies and mechanisms to support innovation. One of the important policies is Decree No. 97/2025/ND-CP, issued on May 5, 2025, regulating mechanisms and policies to encourage innovation at the National Innovation Center (NIC), now under the Ministry of Finance. This Decree provides tax, financial and technical support incentives for businesses and research organizations at the NIC.

In addition, Decree No. 249/2025/ND-CP, issued on September 19, 2025, stipulates mechanisms and policies to attract experts in the fields of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation. This Decree creates favorable conditions to attract domestic and foreign talents, contributing to improving the quality of human resources serving innovation.

Innovation is not only focused on the high-tech sector but is also widely applied in Vietnam's key economic sectors. In agriculture, many high-tech agricultural production models have been deployed, such as growing clean vegetables in greenhouses, using automatic irrigation systems and smart sensors to monitor the environment.

In industry, many businesses have applied 4.0 technology to production, such as using automatic robots in assembly lines, applying artificial intelligence in quality management and equipment maintenance. This helps to increase productivity, reduce production costs and improve product quality.

In services, new business models based on digital platforms have developed strongly, such as e-commerce, digital financial services, online education and smart tourism. These models not only meet consumer needs but also create many job opportunities, contributing to promoting economic growth.

Although many positive results have been achieved in the field of innovation, there are still some challenges that need to be addressed. One of the major challenges is the lack of high-quality human resources in science, technology and innovation. To overcome this situation, the Government continues to invest in education and training, especially in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Another challenge is the lack of linkages between businesses, institutes, schools and research organizations. To address this issue, it is necessary to build and develop innovation clusters, creating favorable conditions for technology transfer and commercialization of research results. In addition, it is necessary to improve the legal framework and policy mechanisms to support innovation, such as building an effective intellectual property system, creating favorable conditions for registration and protection of intellectual property rights, as well as promoting public-private cooperation in the field of innovation.

With the results achieved and strong support policies, ICT is becoming an important driving force for Vietnam's economic growth. According to forecasts, in the period 2025 - 2030, the contribution of the digital economy to GDP will increase from 18.3% to 30 - 35%, with the strong development of high-tech industry, digital services and e-commerce.
