June 22, Education New Zealand (ENZ) is celebrating the new winners of the 2025 New Zealand Secondary School Scholarships (NZSS). These scholarships are for outstanding international students who want to study in the New Zealand secondary school system .
Launched in 2019, the NZSS scholarship is part of the New Zealand Government's strategy to attract outstanding international students to study in the land of the kiwi.
Not only evaluating academic achievements, scholarships also consider development potential, personal qualities and integration spirit.
This year, 20 outstanding Vietnamese students won this scholarship and will officially begin their study journey at New Zealand high schools from July 2025 or January 2026.
Mr. Scott James - New Zealand Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City - expressed his impression of the quality of this year's contestants. They were outstanding in their academic ability, while also demonstrating their inspiration, determination and personal stories.
Scholarships are awarded to Vietnamese students currently studying in Years 8, 9, and 10 at a secondary school in Vietnam. Each scholarship is worth 50% of the first year's tuition fees in New Zealand.
In addition, students also receive comprehensive support from choosing schools, arranging accommodation, cultural integration guidance to opportunities to explore the academic environment and life in New Zealand.
