Learning from Uncle Ho about the pioneering and exemplary nature of party members
Born in 1924, in the revolutionary countryside of Cam Xuyen, Ha Tinh , Mr. Le Quang A was enlightened about the revolution early. In 1945, when he was just 21 years old, he directly propagated and popularized the policy of the Viet Minh Front, and at the same time organized the youth self-defense team to practice. In August 1945, when the Cam Xuyen District Uprising Committee was established, Mr. A was one of the 5 people appointed to participate in the organization. He was also the commander of the people of Cam Quan commune to rise up and seize power. At the end of August 1945, the provisional revolutionary committee of Cam Quan commune was established, Mr. Le Quang A was appointed as Chairman.
In March 1946, he was honored to be admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam . Becoming a party member, his responsibilities became even greater. He was assigned to be the Chairman of the Commune Defense Committee, while at the same time developing the Party organization at the grassroots level and consolidating the revolutionary forces.
From 1946 to 1981, Mr. A continuously held many important positions such as: Chairman of the Commune Administrative Committee; Head of the Evacuation Committee; Standing Committee of the National Salvation Youth of Tam Quan Commune (now Cam Quan Commune); General Secretary of the Lien Viet Front in Cam Xuyen; Head of the Research Department of the Lien Viet Front in Ha Tinh; political officer of the La Giang - Duc Tho dike construction site; finance officer of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee; Standing Member of the Ha Tinh Economic Arbitration Council, Deputy Head of the Finance Department of the Ha Tinh Provincial Administrative Committee...
For Mr. Le Quang A, studying and following Uncle Ho's example are not lofty things, but are concrete, practical daily tasks. He shared: "Uncle taught us to be diligent, frugal, honest and upright. So every morning when we wake up, we must ask ourselves if we have done anything to be worthy of Uncle Ho's teachings. From being frugal to saying what we do, we must go hand in hand with doing."
Mr. A always kept in mind that a party member must be a pioneer, setting an example in everything, from big to small matters. In any position, he used all his heart and talent to serve the Fatherland and the people... When he was in charge of the commune's commander, Mr. A took the lead in propaganda work, mobilizing people to participate in the resistance war, implementing the Party's policies and local movements; directly participating in digging tunnels, building mounds, training militia and self-defense forces; even being ready to fight if the enemy was reckless... When working at the Provincial Party Committee's Finance and Trade Committee, the Provincial Economic Arbitration Council, working in the context of fierce resistance war, with poor material conditions, Mr. A still researched and proposed many policies and strategies; at the same time directly arranged budget resources, implemented revenue and expenditure management regimes, distributed money and goods, and performed a series of urgent tasks appropriate to the actual conditions and situation.
A shining example for the next generation
Since 1981, after many years of working for the revolution, Mr. Le Quang A returned to his locality and continued to hold the position of Head of the Control Board of Hong Tien Cooperative; in 1987, he was Deputy Head of the Retirement Board of Cam Quan Commune. In 2002, at the age of 78, he officially retired from his positions and returned to being a party member at the Chi Quan village Party Cell. Despite his old age, he still kept a clear mind, regularly following domestic and foreign news and politics through the mass media. At the age of 100, he still regularly participated in Party Cell activities, listening, sharing, and reminding the younger generation to follow in their fathers' footsteps.
To him, being a party member is not just a title but also a responsibility and an example. He often advised his children and the younger generation in the party cell: “Every party member must be an example. That example must be bright and clear so that people can believe and follow. To do that, we must learn from Uncle Ho and live according to his teachings.”
The story of Mr. Le Quang A - from a 21-year-old youth who rose up to seize power, to a Party member with more than 80 years of Party membership today - is not only the pride of his hometown Cam Xuyen, but also a valuable lesson for the next generation. Although he is no longer directly involved in the work, he still regularly attends Party cell meetings to share valuable experiences, stories about Uncle Ho and the arduous days of fighting for independence. His simple, sincere words have become a strong motivation, urging young Party members to constantly strive, improve themselves, and contribute to building an increasingly prosperous homeland.
Secretary of the Cam Xuyen Commune Party Committee Nguyen Van Thanh expressed that the next generation is always deeply grateful for the merits, contributions and dedication of comrade Le Quang A. With his extensive experience in revolutionary activities, in the coming time, he hopes that comrade Le Quang A will continue to pay attention, follow and contribute ideas to build an increasingly strong Party and government organization.
Not only is he a staunch party member who passes on revolutionary ideals and beliefs to the next generation, Mr. A is also a shining example in educating his children and grandchildren. He has 6 children, 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; among them, over 20 are party members, some are Associate Professors, Doctors, teachers, soldiers, civil servants, workers, farmers... Whether working, holding a position or retired, each of Mr. A's children and grandchildren live exemplary, disciplined lives, promote family cultural traditions and take the lead in participating in movements in their residential areas.
Mr. Le Quang A possesses the qualities of a loyal party member, an exemplary citizen, a responsible father, grandfather, and grandfather. With over 80 years of Party membership and 101 years of life, he is the “red flame” spreading belief and revolutionary ideals, so that today’s and future generations can continue to build an increasingly prosperous and beautiful homeland and country.
