As planned, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will announce admission scores based on thinking assessment scores and 2024 high school graduation exam scores for 64 majors and training programs on August 17. Banking Academy is also expected to announce admission scores on this day.
Meanwhile, the National Economics University, Hanoi University of Industry, and the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology are expected to announce their benchmark scores on August 19.
A series of universities in the South are expected to announce their admission scores on August 17, such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, and Nha Trang University.
Among the units under Ho Chi Minh City National University, the University of Economics and Law and the University of Information Technology are also expected to announce their benchmark scores on August 17.
Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Van Lang University, Gia Dinh University, Van Hien University, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Hong Bang International University, Saigon International University... also announced the admission scores at this time.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, before 5:00 p.m. on August 17, schools will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system, review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results according to the general schedule. Thus, after this period, schools can announce the benchmark scores and admission results to candidates. The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that by 5:00 p.m. on August 19 at the latest, universities and colleges must complete the announcement of the benchmark scores and first round of admission results.
Accordingly, each candidate is only admitted to one highest choice. Candidates need to pay attention to receive the admission results and enroll in the system within the prescribed time.
Some schools also gave initial predictions about the admission scores this year. For example, Hanoi University of Science and Technology predicted that the admission majors may have a slight increase compared to 2023 by 0.75 points. Of which, 3 majors of the school including Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence can have a benchmark score above 28. Many majors have a benchmark score of about 27 - 28, while there are also majors with a predicted benchmark score ranging from 20 - 22.75 points.
Meanwhile, a representative of Hanoi Medical University predicted that the admission scores for the majors of Medicine and Dentistry could be above 28, as the quota for admission based entirely on high school graduation exam scores has decreased and the average score has increased. In addition to the above two majors, the admission scores for other majors based on high school graduation exam scores are expected to be higher than last year.
The reason is that this year the school increased the admission quota by combining high school graduation exam scores and international language certificates. Therefore, the rate of admission based entirely on graduation exam scores is only 60%, about 20% less than last year.
Some experts also say that the benchmark scores for top universities and top majors can reach over 25 points. For average top universities, the benchmark scores will range from 20 to 24, while the rest will have benchmark scores from 15 to 20.
