Results and directions

In an atmosphere of friendship and trust, the two sides reaffirmed their determination to support and further strengthen the special traditional solidarity, friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, as well as the important role of parliamentary cooperation in consolidating and promoting the special solidarity between the two countries.

The leaders of the two parliaments listened to reports from representatives of the two countries' National Assembly agencies and the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee on the bilateral cooperation situation between the two countries, proposed solutions and proposed amendments and supplements to policies and laws, helping to remove difficulties and obstacles, and improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation, especially in economics , finance, trade and investment.

National Assembly deputies from both sides exchanged opinions and shared experiences in building and perfecting policies and laws, promoting bilateral cooperation in the fields of economics, finance, investment, energy, science, technology and health in accordance with the conditions and circumstances of each country; at the same time, discussed and evaluated the results achieved and proposed measures to improve the effectiveness of implementing cooperation agreements signed between the two countries.

The two sides affirmed the need to expand inter-parliamentary relations between Vietnam and Cuba, agreed to strengthen close coordination both bilaterally and at international and regional forums, enhance coordination capacity, promote and regularly monitor activities, and effectively implement cooperation documents signed between the two countries.

President of the Cuban National Assembly of the People's Government Esteban Lazo Hernández and Vice President of the Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai highlighted the results of cooperation between Cuba and Vietnam in recent times, and highly appreciated the practical and effective contents of the First Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee between the two countries' National Assemblies.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai thanked the National Assembly of the People's Government of Cuba for warmly welcoming the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation and conveyed the invitation of Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man to his Cuban counterpart Esteban Lazo Hernández to lead the Cuban National Assembly delegation to attend the 2nd Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in Vietnam.
