US President-elect Donald Trump had dinner with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the Mar-a-Lago club in Florida on November 27 to discuss the 'future government'.
A Meta spokesperson confirmed the meeting between Trump and billionaire Mark Zuckerberg. "This is an important era for the future of innovation in America. Mr. Zuckerberg is honored to have dinner with President-elect Donald Trump and to have the opportunity to meet members of his team about the new administration," CBS News quoted a Meta spokesperson as saying.

Stephen Miller, who was appointed deputy chief of staff for President-elect Trump's second term, said that billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, like other business leaders, wants to support Mr. Trump's economic plans.
"Mark, obviously, has his own interests, his own company, and his own agenda. But he has made it clear that he wants to support American innovation under Trump's leadership," Miller said.
Mr. Trump and billionaire Zuckerberg have had a turbulent relationship. President-elect Trump once declared that he would "imprison" the Meta boss for "conspiring" against him in the 2020 election. Conversely, Mr. Trump was also locked out of his social media account by Facebook - Meta's subsidiary - after the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
However, according to The New York Times , billionaire Zuckerberg is said to have made efforts to improve his relationship with Mr. Trump since 2023. Facebook restored Mr. Trump's account in early 2023.
During the 2024 presidential campaign, billionaire Zuckerberg announced that he would not support any presidential candidate. However, Mr. Zuckerberg is said to have gradually taken a more positive stance towards Mr. Trump. The Meta boss praised Mr. Trump's response to the assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania (USA) on July 13.
