On September 24, Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee held a press conference to inform about the 1st Phu Tho Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, taking place on September 29 and 30.

This is the first congress after the merger of the three provinces of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hoa Binh , with the participation of 500 delegates, representing more than 257,000 party members of 152 party committees under the Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee.

According to Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee, some new points in the Phu Tho Provincial Party Congress are that the congress does not elect a new Party Committee and a delegation to attend the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The Politburo will appoint the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Secretary, the Deputy Secretary, the Inspection Committee, the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee for the 2025-2030 term and appoint delegates to attend the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Second, in the personnel structure of the Provincial Party Executive Committee for the new term, there will be over 6% of cadres with scientific and technological qualifications. This is the Party's new policy to realize the goal of breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

Third, due to the characteristics of the new province after the merger, with an area of over 9,000 ^km2 and 148 communes and wards, organizing the meeting in three days would be both costly and difficult for the delegates. Therefore, the Standing Committee of Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee moved the discussion of the official session to the afternoon after the morning preparatory session to save time and money.

Regarding personnel preparation for the Provincial Party Congress, the Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee said that the Politburo and the Secretariat have unanimously approved the personnel plan for the 1st Phu Tho Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

The total number of members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee who are qualified and eligible for re-election is 97. The total number of members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee who are qualified and eligible for re-election is 27. The total number of members of the Provincial Party Inspection Committee who are old enough to be re-elected is 13.

According to Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee, although the Provincial Party Congress this term does not elect personnel at the congress but is appointed by the Politburo, the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee still pay special attention.

The implementation process must strictly follow the three steps prescribed in Directive No. 45-CT/TW, dated April 14, 2025 of the Politburo on party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
