Designer Nguyen Cong Tri's career before being arrested for drug-related crimes

Before being arrested for drug-related crimes, Nguyen Cong Tri was considered one of the most successful Vietnamese designers both domestically and internationally.

Designer Cong Tri was born in 1978 in Da Nang , studied Industrial Fine Arts at Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture.

Cong Tri started his career in the late 1990s. He used to work as a record cover designer, behind some products such as the album cover Ta chang con ai by Phuong Thanh and Minh Thuan.

After meeting designer Minh Hanh by chance, Cong Tri decided to pursue a career in fashion design. In the early 2000s, he won several regional awards. At this time, he was also considered one of the pioneers pursuing the high-end fashion path, creating fashion styles for stars in Vietnam.

Designer Cong Tri was behind many gorgeous outfits for female artists such as: Ho Ngoc Ha, Thanh Hang, Thanh Lam, Le Quyen...

From 2014 to 2017, Cong Tri performed many shows, introducing many collections domestically and regionally, many of which received attention such as: Immortal Flower, Blood, Sleepwalker, Ecstasy... Every time he held a show, he was supported by Vietnamese stars such as: Tran Thanh, Dam Vinh Hung, My Tam, Thanh Loc, Diem My 9X...

2017 marked an important milestone in Cong Tri's career when his designs were chosen by singers Rihanna and Katy Perry. From then on, Cong Tri became famous and was favored by many Hollywood stars. Many of his "outfits" and costumes were worn by international stars on the red carpets of large and small events.

Some European and American celebrities who have worn Cong Tri's clothes include: Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, Charlize Theron, Zendaya, Rihanna, Kate Bosworth, Josephine Skriver, Sophie Turner, Camila Cabello...

Notably, in October 2019, former First Lady Michelle Obama wore a silk suit designed by Cong Tri. From 2021 to 2023, Blackpink members Rosé and Lisa also attracted attention from the media and fashion-loving audiences when choosing designs from the Vietnamese fashion house in performance events and MV filming.

In 2024, nearly 60 famous beauties in the world ordered outfits from designer Cong Tri to attend award ceremonies and music shows, including names such as: Adele, Paris Hilton, Joey King...
