On the morning of September 23, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee opened the 1st Congress of Delegates, term 2025-2030.
General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense attended and directed the Congress.
General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent congratulatory flower baskets.
Also attending the Congress were representatives of Central agencies, Military Region 1 and leaders of provinces and cities; Standing Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, former leaders of Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen provinces through the periods; delegates of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor and more than 440 official delegates representing over 140,000 Party members of the Provincial Party Committee.
The congress has the theme "Strengthening the building of a clean, strong, and comprehensive Party and political system; ensuring national defense and security; promoting the tradition of solidarity, breakthroughs in rapid, unique, and sustainable development; comprehensively improving people's lives, building Thai Nguyen province into a modern industrial center with high average income before 2030."
Speaking at the Congress, General Phan Van Giang acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Party Committee, government, army and people of all ethnic groups in Thai Nguyen province during the 2020-2025 term.
In the coming time, to achieve the goals and tasks for the 2025-2030 term, the General noted that the Provincial Party Committee needs to have a correct understanding of the general situation and context, clearly identify the potential and advantages of the locality, select key tasks and breakthroughs to focus on leadership and direction, and create new changes in socio-economic development.
The Provincial Party Committee needs to pay attention to planning and planning management, clearly define the role and position of Thai Nguyen in the Northern key economic region, the Hanoi capital region, attach importance to regional linkages to create development momentum, and affirm its role as the center of the Northern midland and mountainous region.
The General emphasized that the merger of the two old provinces of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan opens up a wide development space, creating a harmonious whole, closely linking the dynamic industrial-urban center with unique ecological and cultural tourism potential. This is a favorable opportunity to build Thai Nguyen to develop rapidly and sustainably, with synchronous infrastructure, soon becoming a modern industrial province.
The province needs to focus on developing high-tech industries with competitive advantages, being environmentally friendly, using land and human resources economically, creating stable revenue sources for the budget; prioritizing attracting key industrial types, supporting industries, electronics, information technology, closely linking local industries with foreign-invested industries to support mutual development.
The province continues to restructure the agricultural sector towards increasing added value, sustainable development, maintaining and enhancing the brand "Thai Nguyen tea."

According to the Political Report of the Provincial Party Committee presented to the Congress, in the 2020-2025 term, Thai Nguyen has achieved important results. The Party Executive Committees of the two provinces of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan and the collective Party Committee of Thai Nguyen province (after the merger) have always been united, made efforts, and strictly implemented the principle of democratic centralism to comprehensively lead and direct Party building work in all aspects of politics, ideology, organization, ethics and cadres.
From July 1, 2025, Thai Nguyen province officially operated a synchronous, smooth and stable two-level local government model; administrative reform achieved positive results. The province's economic growth reached an average of 7.3%/year, the economic structure shifted in a positive direction.
In 2025, the total product (GRDP) in the province will reach 202,925 billion VND, 1.6 times higher than in 2020; GRDP per capita will reach 119 million VND, 1.5 times higher than in 2020.
The province has established 12 industrial parks and 40 industrial clusters, with an average annual increase in industrial production value of 8%; in 2025, the industrial production value will reach 1,156 trillion VND; export value will always be among the leading localities in the country; state budget revenue in 2025 will reach 24,735 billion VND, 1.7 times higher than in 2020.
Agricultural and forestry production has shifted strongly towards commodity production, improving product quality and brand.
By 2025, Thai Nguyen province will have 575 OCOP products, of which 10 products will achieve national 5-star OCOP status.
National target programs on new rural construction, sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas have been comprehensively led and directed, the poverty rate has decreased by an average of 1.41% each year, exceeding the target set out in the Resolution...
At the end of the opening session, the Congress announced the Politburo's decisions to appoint members of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Inspection Committee member, Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Inspection Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
The Executive Committee of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, term I, 2025-2030, consists of 65 comrades; the Standing Committee consists of 17 comrades.
Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, holds the position of Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term./.
