In the article on the morning of August 5, Kim gave many compliments to this album, highly appreciated the Vietnamese quality that 2pillz put into each song and affectionately called this "the strongest musical statement of V-pop this year".

This person said that PILLZCASSO is an album that brings a feeling of "both confidence and lightness through dance pop songs that gather many Vietnamese artists in a vibrant party hour with a standard blue ocean vibe, including the moments of falling mood afterwards. Despite having a relaxing and restrained tone, this is still the strongest musical statement of Vpop this year".

Critics said they were interested in the way 2pillz combined pop music and V inahouse - a genre with a strong Vietnamese flavor in the product Once You Say Love, Everything Will End or restructured bolero music by using a sample from a song by famous singer Phuong Dung to create Fallen Leaves Bring Love To .

The sounds that 2pillz uses such as traditional instruments, specifically the t'rung in "Dua Em Vao Trong", the lithophone in "Thac Ning" , the Vietnamese tones resounding through the flute in "Nguoi Dep Oiii", " Chi Mot Cau Than Chua", "Nghi Mot Ti" all make Pitchfork experts excited.

The review concludes with a comment on 2pillz's musical identity: "Above all, what makes PILLZCASSO unique is the emotional fusion between the resilience and bounce of vinahouse and the profound lyricism of Vietnamese ballads. No current V-pop album demonstrates a generational shift as clearly and confidently as PILLZCASSO ."

Sharing more about the album, 2pillz said: "The album's name was inspired by Pablo Picasso, a rebellious and limitless art icon. Similarly, 2pillz (or PILLZCASSO ) wants to use music to paint personal colors - both chaotic and full of depth. Conflicting emotions, breakdown, beauty in distortion,... are all materials for this album. 2pillz also wants to make a music album with "bouncing, pretty, emotional" melodies, giving listeners mixed emotions."

In this new album, 2pillz boldly experimented with many musical genres from House, Afrobeat, Drum & Bass, Bossanova to Bolero or using Vietnamese folk materials (dan da, zither t'rung,...). All of this creates a musical concept called "vinafro" - a fusion of Vietnamese cultural identity with the vibrant beats of global club music.

2pillz said: "I've always liked afrobeat music and its 'variations' that I 'made up' names for myself like: boleafro (bolero + afro), ballad (ballad + afro),... and when combined with Vietnamese sounds, it will create Vinafro . Besides the famous Vinahouse, I hope vinafro will also become something that helps Vietnamese music have special and interesting features."

After its release, the album PILLZCASSO reached the Top 1 on the most listened albums chart of iTunes Vietnam and iTunes Germany, and held the Top 3 of iTunes Canada. On YouTube, the Full Performance Video, which is over 53 minutes long, also garnered over 337,000 views - a remarkable achievement for a music producer like 2pillz.

The score of 7.1 that Pitchfork gave to the album PILLZCASSO is equivalent to the score given to Jennie's album Ruby , which is in the Top Asian albums rated by this music site.
