Speeding up the progress of provincial road projects connecting Long Thanh Airport

The projects to upgrade, expand and invest in the construction of provincial roads: 769, 773 and 770B are key projects of the province to form traffic axes connecting localities in the province with Long Thanh International Airport.

Long Thanh Airport is a national key project being built in the province. The project not only aims to create a breakthrough in development for the whole country, the key economic region of the South, the Southeast region in general, but is also expected to create a development boost for Dong Nai province in particular.

Connecting the development driving force center of the province

With the goal of spreading the development momentum of Long Thanh Airport to many localities in the province, Dong Nai province has planned and implemented projects to upgrade and expand provincial roads 769, 773 and invest in building new provincial road 770B. These are provincial roads serving the need to connect localities in the province with Long Thanh Airport.

Mr. Nguyen Linh, Deputy Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, said: Recently, the unit has coordinated with functional agencies and localities to deploy investment preparation work for these projects.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, the total investment for the projects to upgrade, expand and construct provincial roads 769, 773 and 770B is more than 18 trillion VND.

According to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, of the three above-mentioned projects, the Provincial Road 769 Upgrade and Expansion Project has had its feasibility study report approved by the Provincial People's Committee. In May 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision approving the plan to select a consulting contractor to implement the construction design after the project's basic design. The Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board is implementing the work of organizing the selection of a contractor for the design step to be implemented after the basic design.

The Project to Upgrade and Expand Provincial Road 769 has a total route length of nearly 30km, the starting point of the route intersects with National Highway 1, at Dau Giay intersection, Dau Giay commune; the end point of the route intersects with National Highway 51 at Loc An intersection, Long Thanh commune, Dong Nai province.

Meanwhile, the Project to Upgrade and Expand Provincial Road 773 has a route length of more than 39km with an investment scale of 6-8 lanes in the completion phase, passing through the communes of Xuan Que, Xuan Duong, Xuan Phu, Xuan Dong, Xuan Loc, Xuan Hoa, Cam My (Dong Nai province).

Provincial Road 770B Construction Investment Project has a route length of more than 42km, passing through 9 communes and wards of the province.

For the projects to upgrade and expand provincial road 773 and build provincial road 770B, up to now, the project appraisal work has been completed at the Department of Construction Investment Management, Ministry of Transport (old), now the Ministry of Construction .

Don't lose your development advantage

Recently, during a surprise inspection of the Long Thanh Airport Project construction site, Party Central Committee member and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized: The basic goal of completing the project before December 19, 2025 and putting it into commercial operation in the first half of 2026 as requested by the Prime Minister remains unchanged.

Thus, the time left for Dong Nai to invest in completing transport infrastructure projects connecting to Long Thanh Airport is running out. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc assessed: The projects to upgrade, expand, and invest in the construction of provincial roads 769, 773, 770B have been slow to implement in the past. These are projects of a driving nature, connecting localities with Long Thanh Airport to maximize the potential and strengths of the project, so they need to be accelerated.

In fact, the process of implementing investment procedures for the above projects has encountered some difficulties and problems regarding land and planning. Up to now, the difficulties and problems have basically been resolved.

At the working session on the progress of key projects in the province on September 4, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Nai Province Ton Ngoc Hanh proposed: The authorities must come up with synchronous solutions to speed up the progress of projects, including traffic projects connecting Long Thanh Airport to serve the development needs of the province.

"If Long Thanh Airport comes into operation but the connecting roads are not completed, the province will lose its development advantages," Comrade Ton Ngoc Hanh emphasized.
