Ho Chi Minh City proactively prepares response plans for storm Bualoi

Implementing the dispatch of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee on proactively responding to storm Bualoi (storm No. 10) near the East Sea, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City requested units and localities to closely monitor warning bulletins and forecasts of the development of storm Bualoi near the East Sea.

The People's Committees of coastal wards, communes, island communes, special zones, the Command of the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard, the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance, and the Ho Chi Minh City Coastal Information Station regularly inform vessels and boats operating at sea about the storm's developments so that they can have appropriate plans for production and exploitation of aquatic products. Organize monitoring, counting, and statistics of the number of vessels operating in the affected area; ensure communication with vessel owners to provide guidance and promptly handle incidents.

Be ready to deploy plans to ensure safety for people and vessels operating at sea in the face of storm developments. Units and localities prepare forces, vehicles and equipment to carry out search and rescue operations when situations arise. Organize on-duty shifts strictly according to regulations. Timely inform and report adverse situations to the City Civil Defense Command and the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City.

Press and media agencies promptly reported warnings and forecasts of storm developments; and directives from the Central and the city so that authorities at all levels could implement them and people in the city could proactively and effectively respond.

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, in the next 24 to 48 hours, the tropical convergence zone connecting with storm No. 9 will move mainly in the West-Northwest direction, entering the mainland of the Northern region, around morning to noon on September 25 and gradually weakening. After that, the tropical convergence zone will move southward, connecting with storm Bualoi in the Philippines area and entering the East Sea around the evening of September 26.

Weather forecast for Ho Chi Minh City from September 27 to 29, the tropical convergence zone connecting with storm Bualoi moves northwestward towards the Northern and North Central provinces, then gradually weakens. From September 30, the subtropical high pressure tends to move westward and has an axis through the North - Central Central region. The southwest monsoon in the Southern region operates with medium to strong intensity, gradually decreasing in intensity from September 30.

Forecast the possibility of impact, be on guard against thunderstorms accompanied by dangerous weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, strong gusts of wind that can affect agricultural production, damage houses, etc. Heavy rain causes flooding in urban areas with poor drainage, affecting traffic.
