Warning: From the night of September 26 to the morning of September 27, Hanoi will have showers, localized heavy rain and thunderstorms. Rainfall is generally below 20 - 50mm. Disaster risk level due to heavy rain is level 1.

Thunderstorms may be accompanied by tornadoes, lightning and strong winds that can knock down trees, damage homes, roads and infrastructure.

Heavy rains overload urban drainage systems, causing flooding in residential areas, urban areas and low-lying areas, traffic jams due to flooded roads and reduced visibility when driving, causing slippery roads and traffic accidents. Heavy rains in a short period of time can cause landslides in mountainous areas with steep terrain.

Faced with the above weather conditions, Head of the Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Nguyen Van Huong warned that thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind pose a potential risk to people's lives and property. Tornadoes often occur with strong thunderstorms. When there are warnings of thunderstorms, people should take shelter in safe places in solidly built structures.
