On the afternoon of September 9, the Vietnam Blockchain and Digital Assets Association (VBA) launched the Blockchain Gallery and the 5th Satoshi Statue in the world.
The Satoshi statue announced by VBA is the “vanished” version, designed by Italian artist Valentina Picozzi.
The statue has a unique disappearing effect when viewed from side to front, similar to how Satoshi Nakamoto completely disappeared after building the Bitcoin network and giving power back to the global community.
Valentina spent 21 months designing and testing this version so that the piece could fully convey the spirit and decentralized culture of Bitcoin.
Ms. Nguyen Van Hien, Vice President of VBA shared: "Having a Satoshi statue in Vietnam aims to spread the core values of Blockchain such as transparency, freedom, security, and at the same time bring this technology closer to the public."
Previously, the Satoshi statue also had a faceless bronze version called “We are all Satoshi” designed by two young Hungarian sculptors, Réka Gergely and Tamás Gilly.
In the bronze version, every visitor will see their own face reflected in it when standing opposite, conveying the message that anyone can be Satoshi.
Satoshi Nakamoto is the pseudonym of the person or group of people who created Bitcoin and blockchain technology. The true identity of Bitcoin's "father" remains one of the biggest mysteries of the modern technological world.
In 2008, Satoshi published a white paper explaining in detail how a decentralized digital currency would work.
After mining the first Bitcoin block in January 2009, Satoshi stopped working and communicating with the community in late 2010.
