The market started the morning session positively, with the VN-Index rising more than 14 points, approaching the 1,680-point level. However, the increase quickly slowed down as stock prices and indexes cooled down. By lunchtime, the index was at 1,666.52 points, up 1.47 points.

In the afternoon session, the green color was initially maintained, but after 2:00 p.m., increased selling pressure pulled the VN-Index back to the reference level and then turned to decrease.
At the end of the session, VN-Index stopped at 1,652.71 points, down 12.34 points (0.74%); VN30-Index decreased 10.83 points (-0.58%), to 1,859.8 points.
Widespread selling pressure caused most stocks to fall. The market recorded 243 stocks falling in price, nearly 3 times more than the number of stocks rising (84 stocks). In the VN30 group, stocks falling in price also dominated (20 stocks and 9 stocks).
The pillar stocks had a significant differentiation. While VHM took away the most points with 2.42 points, VPB took 1.35 points, VRE took 0.71 points, on the other hand, TCB, MBB, VIC contributed 0.5-0.91 points to the VN-Index. However, the slight increase of key stocks was not enough to help the market escape the down session.
In terms of industry groups, most industries decreased; in which, many industries lost 1% but no industry decreased by 2%. On the contrary, trade and professional services, vehicles and components, consumer services were the industries that went against the market, recording a slight increase.
Liquidity remained low with nearly VND23,000 billion changed hands. Foreign investors continued to be net sellers. This group bought nearly VND1,630 billion but sold approximately VND3,984 billion.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the total transaction value was over VND1,500 billion. At the end of the session, the HNX-Index decreased by 3.65 points (-1.34%), to 269.55 points; the HNX30-Index stopped at 582.07 points, down 12.52 points (-2.11%).
