VNeID brings many benefits

Considered as the “key” to connecting electronic data, electronic identification (VNeID) brings many benefits to people, while also facilitating state management. This is one of the foundations to promote the development of digital citizens and digital society, effectively serving administrative reform, socio-economic development and ensuring security and order in the locality.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), many Thai Nguyen people received Independence Day gifts very early when registering on the VNeID application. This new approach shows the potential of electronic identification in administrative reform and social security today.

“With just a few steps on my phone, I confirmed my registration information and received a gift from the bank transferred to my account on September 1. Everything was very quick and easy, no need to queue or carry any documents” - Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh, a resident of Phan Dinh Phung ward, shared. This is the most populous ward in the province after the merger, so the application of technology greatly reduces the workload for the grassroots apparatus.

Previously, Thai Nguyen province had deployed to collect people's opinions on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution through VNeID. Ms. Duong Thi Xuan, Secretary of the Party Cell of Residential Group 9A, Duc Xuan Ward, said: Most of the people in the group have implemented VNeID level 2 identification, the level of education is quite good, so basically there are many advantages when implementing to collect people's opinions.

Using the VNeID electronic identification account brings maximum convenience to people. Users can replace the chip-embedded citizen identification card and integrated documents such as driver's license, vehicle registration, health insurance card, tax code... Just with the application on the phone, people can declare health, carry out administrative procedures, make cashless payments, even reflect and make recommendations on the security and order situation.

Level 2 VNeID provides many benefits.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hoa, a resident of Dong Hy commune, shared: As soon as the police announced, I registered to activate a VNeID level 2 account and found that there are many benefits when using it. Integrating documents into an electronic account is really convenient. Thanks to the VNeID application, I can do many procedures that previously required me to carry many types of personal documents.

For government agencies, VNeID helps significantly reduce time and costs for storage and printing, while accurately authenticating citizen information. It is also a platform for handling administrative procedures online, limiting the need for people to travel multiple times.

For each level of electronic identification account, the VNeID application has developed corresponding services and utilities to serve the people. With level 1 identification on VNeID, people can declare their health and vaccination. For level 2, the application can integrate many important documents to use instead of hard copies, including citizen identification, temporary residence, temporary absence, driver's license, vehicle registration, social insurance number, dependents, marital status...

Despite its many benefits, reality shows that VNeID is not used frequently in administrative transactions, electronic payments, especially in reflecting recommendations on security and order, reporting and denouncing crimes...

Some people in remote areas are not yet proficient in information technology, so they have difficulty using VNeID to replace traditional documents.

In order for people to clearly understand, know and effectively use the utilities of digital technology, units, localities and community digital technology groups need to promote propaganda and guidance on utilities on VNeID; encourage people to activate VNeID level 2 and use it regularly in transactions and applications in life.

The deployment of electronic identification and digital services, if well implemented, is considered a key solution to reduce administrative procedures, ensure social security and serve people more effectively.
