To continue promoting socio -economic development in the area after implementing administrative unit rearrangement, according to Chairman of Bat Trang Commune People's Committee Hoang Tien Dung, the commune pays special attention to mobilizing all resources and promoting the existing advantages of the locality.
Bat Trang commune currently includes the entire natural area and population of Kim Duc commune; most of the natural area and entire population of Bat Trang commune; part of the natural area and population of Da Ton commune, Trau Quy town; Thach Ban ward, Cu Khoi ward.
Bat Trang has the ceramic craft villages of Bat Trang, Giang Cao and Kim Lan located on the left bank of the Red River, which are ancient ceramic villages, recognized as National Intangible Cultural Heritage. The whole commune has 1,200 production and business households and more than 300 ceramic artisans. The products of the craft villages are the crystallization of sophisticated manual methods, artistic creativity, aesthetics and cultural identity preserved through each generation, favored by domestic and foreign customers.
The commune is also an attractive tourist destination for craft villages and spiritual tourism in the city with 47 historical and cultural relics, including 10 historical relics ranked at national level and 20 historical relics at city level.
Among them is the Center for the Essence of Vietnamese Craft Villages in the ancient village of Bat Trang. This is a place to display the historical exhibition of Bat Trang ceramics through the ages, and also a place to organize fairs, diverse cultural activities, combined with a workshop to experience handmade ceramics for visitors, researchers, students, and students to experience...
Or Kim Lan Ancient Pottery Museum currently has about 300 artifacts, mainly pottery and pottery tools, proving the glorious past of the craft village with all types of pottery from terracotta to glazed pottery, contributing to representing the history of Vietnamese ceramics.
Regarding the economic development orientation in the coming time, Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the People's Council of Bat Trang Commune Pham Huy Khoi said that with the advantage of traditional ceramic craft villages, Bat Trang continues to focus on developing craft villages in combination with tourism development, gradually turning tourism into an important and spearhead economic sector of the locality. Exploiting the corridor along the two banks of the Red River, the commune aims to develop eco-tourism products, riverside ecological garden farm models; exploit the system of craft villages, communal houses, pagodas... associated with spiritual beliefs, traditional culture (Bat Trang craft village) to develop cultural and spiritual tourism; focus on clean and safe agricultural production, applying high technology... to develop ecological agricultural experience tourism.
Located along the Red River, Bat Trang commune is also a place to produce and supply clean, safe vegetables and agricultural products on a large scale for the capital and neighboring provinces. Typically, Van Duc Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative has the largest safe vegetable production area in the city with a scale of more than 200 hectares.
Director of the Van Duc Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative, Nguyen Van Minh, said that the income from the cooperative's cultivated area is about 700 million VND/ha/year. The cooperative has also participated in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program and has 17 products certified with 3-4 star OCOP. In the coming time, the cooperative will continue to effectively develop commodity agricultural production in specialized and concentrated agricultural areas; build 5-8 pilot models and demonstration models to replicate and apply in vegetable and flower production; maintain and continue to protect 1-2 collective trademarks for some typical and key products of the locality.
According to Chairman of Bat Trang Commune People's Committee Hoang Tien Dung, 2025 is of special importance, being the final year of implementing the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025. Bat Trang sets a goal from now until the end of 2025 to focus on promoting economic development, striving to collect budget revenue to meet and exceed the assigned estimate; maintain a commune with no poor households; strive for more than 90% of households, villages and residential groups to be recognized and maintain cultural titles; focus on digital transformation to gradually build digital government, digital economy, digital society... The commune continues to propose that the city accelerate the progress of investment in traffic infrastructure, parks, investment projects, as a premise, basis for service development and development orientation in the next period.
