Russian Health Minister gives first aid to male passenger on flight to Vietnam

Russian media shared a video of Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko successfully resuscitating a man with high blood pressure on a flight to visit Vietnam last week.

In a post on the X platform on the evening of September 14, RT (Russia) shared: "The Russian Minister of Health saved a person in mid-air. At that time, a Russian man had high blood pressure on a flight from Moscow to Hanoi . Minister Mikhail Murashko took action and helped stabilize this person's condition within an hour."

The video shared by RT shows a male passenger lying down. Next to him is Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko and several flight attendants on the flight.

The blue-ticked account RussiaNews called Mr Murashko a "hero in the sky".

According to some sources, the 50-year-old Russian male passenger suffered a spike in blood pressure during the third hour of the flight. The Vietnamese crew called an ambulance and Mr. Murashko, who was also on the flight, quickly took action.

Within an hour, he stabilized the passenger's condition with on-board medical care, ensuring the male passenger arrived safely in Hanoi.

Mr. Mikhail Murashko (58 years old) is a Russian doctor and politician, holding the position of Minister of Health of the Russian Federation since January 2020.

According to information from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Vietnam, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko is on a working visit to Vietnam from September 12 to 14. The delegation includes leaders of several national medical research centers, leaders of pharmaceutical and medical equipment companies, and representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

On September 12, Mr. Murashko and his delegation visited and worked at the Ministry of Health and the Vietnam - Russia International Eye Hospital.

Last May, the two countries’ health ministries signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of biomedicine. Accordingly, the two sides will increase information exchange, organize training programs, exchange experts, and coordinate the organization of scientific conferences and seminars.
