Cultural identity in exhibition space
The exhibition booth at the National Achievements Exhibition in celebration of the 80th anniversary of National Day recreates that heroic historical journey and demonstrates the bravery, aspiration and happiness created from the hearts of the people in the remote border areas of the Fatherland.
Designed with an area of 200m² at Kim Quy building, with the theme "Cao Bang happiness - Inspired by the people's hearts", the entire design is inspired by nature and indigenous culture: green represents the vast mountains and forests, yellow-brown color reminds of stilt houses and traditional craft villages.
The brocade motifs of the Tay, Nung, Dao, Lo Lo... are included as a rich, unique highlight.
The space is an artistic installation and conveys the message: "Sustainable development must start from cultural roots."
With its artistic layout, the exhibition space suggests a journey: From Pac Bo - the cradle of revolution, to modern Cao Bang city and beyond, the aspiration to integrate with the times.
The exhibition is arranged into 9 thematic groups: Origin - Pac Bo: "People's hearts, mountain shape, human love" , the place associated with Uncle Ho's footsteps returning to the Fatherland. Ho Chi Minh 's ideology - working for the people , laying the foundation for the development path.
Challenges - looking straight and decoding , the stage of overcoming difficulties, overcoming many hardships of the border province. Happiness - index of civilized institutions , reflecting efforts to improve people's lives.
A unique path - designing local happiness , from building "happy communes" to innovation. Feats in protecting borders , achievements in protecting sovereignty and national security.
The historical flow of Cao Bang - from Thuc Phan to today , shows a continuous source through thousands of years...
In particular, more than 250 rare documentary photos about Uncle Ho and the Vietnamese revolution, along with 100 historical and cultural artifacts such as Lo Lo bronze drums, traditional musical instruments, traditional costumes... have created a vivid picture, affirming the special role of Cao Bang in the revolutionary process and national construction.
In particular, the 3D model system simulating a "happy society" and the multi-dimensional LED screen have brought visitors back to the historical journey, reminding them of the value of a revolutionary land in the new era.
In addition to the main exhibition, Cao Bang also dedicated a 30m² outdoor space to introduce cuisine and intangible cultural heritage.
Here, visitors can enjoy local specialties, witness Tay artists performing Then and Tinh instruments, watch brocade weaving, and experience wearing traditional costumes.
OCOP products associated with tourism such as honey, dong vermicelli, Chongqing chestnuts, etc. are displayed, both as cultural characteristics and as evidence of economic development efforts associated with local identity.
That cultural space has turned the exhibition into a place to introduce the province's achievements and is like a miniature festival, where the spirit of Cao Bang is sent to domestic and international friends.
Gateway advantage of border economic zones
Strategically located, Cao Bang is an important gateway for trade between Vietnam and Guangxi (China). With the Tra Linh (Vietnam) - Long Bang (China) international border gate pair, along with many secondary border gates and openings, the province has a special advantage in import and export, especially agricultural products.
The Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway project, when completed, will strongly connect Cao Bang with the ASEAN - China economic corridor, opening the door to the Central Asian and European markets.
In the planning, adding two more pairs of international border gates Ly Van (Vietnam) - Thac Long (China) and Ta Lung (Vietnam) - Thuy Khau (China) will further strengthen the position of trade centers.
This advantage helps Cao Bang become a "border area" and an important link in the international trade chain, where the flow of goods, services and investment opportunities converge.
New look after 80 years
If Pac Bo is a symbol of origin, then Cao Bang city today is a testament to change. In recent years, the province has promoted investment in urban infrastructure, trade, services and tourism.
Inner-city roads are upgraded, new urban areas are formed, and the system of hotels, restaurants, and entertainment areas is developed synchronously.
Tourism has become a key industry with famous destinations such as Ban Gioc Waterfall, Nguom Ngao Cave, Thang Hen Lake, Pac Bo Relic Site. In particular, Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark has raised the local image to the world.
Cao Bang city is gradually becoming a dynamic, civilized and modern urban area, an attractive destination for tourists and a happy place to live for the people.
The core point in Cao Bang’s 80-year development journey is “taking the people as the root”. From the difficult days in Pac Bo, the people’s strength created the revolution. Today, the people’s hearts continue to be the source of building happiness.
This exhibition once again tells the story of the past and also affirms: Cao Bang will continue to develop with its identity, from the people's hearts and for the people's happiness. That is the path for the border region to firmly enter the new era, contributing to building a strong and prosperous Vietnam.
From the source of revolutionary history to today's development journey, Cao Bang has demonstrated the courage to overcome difficulties, the desire for change and the steadfastness with the goal of "happiness from the people's hearts".
80 years is not only a commemorative milestone but also a new beginning for Cao Bang to continue writing its development story, the story of a borderland that is both rich in tradition and full of aspirations to integrate and reach out to the world.
