Chi Vi (24 years old, the person who posted this flex on social media) said he has lived alone in a rented room on Dong Nai Street (District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) for 2 years. Here, the landlord has installed a complete fire protection system, emergency stairs, gas masks...

From 2023 until now, the landlord - Mr. Mai Van Tam - has continuously installed more fire prevention equipment, after reading information about apartment and house fires online.

Not only that, the landlord also advised everyone not to use mini gas stoves to avoid fire and explosion, but to use induction cookers or electric cookers for safety. When leaving the room, turn off all unnecessary electrical equipment to avoid short circuits and fires.

He disseminated the fire safety regulations provided by the government to the residents in the group of tenants. He printed out the escape routes at home, and the situations in which if there was a fire on the floor above him, a fire on the floor below him, a fire in the garage, etc., the tenants should handle it in the safest way.

"After being equipped with a full fire protection system, I feel much more secure about my room.

"A boarding house is like a second home for people living far from home. After a tiring day at work, everyone wants to have a peaceful sleep instead of having to carry anxiety and insecurity," Vi said.

Visiting the boarding house on Dong Nai Street (District 10), Tuoi Tre Online was extremely surprised to see fire prevention equipment placed everywhere from the security room door, garage, stairs... Every floor has "Emergency exit" signs, posted signs to prevent fire and explosions... When the reporter arrived, the delivery staff brought 4 boxes of brand new fire prevention equipment.

Mr. Mai Van Tam said he is "addicted" to buying fire prevention and fighting equipment. Up to now, he has spent several hundred million to buy these items.

The boarding house has an emergency siren, a heat-resistant tarpaulin, etc. The house has two emergency exits. One of them can run from the security gate to the door.

The house has two large doors leading to the alley. The fire escape stairs are solidly built.

Mr. Tam bought all the items 2-3 years ago and has been adding more recently. He recently replaced the regular windows with glass ones. When smoke rises from below, the tenants just need to pull the windows down to avoid smoke inhalation.

He also gave each person a gas mask to wear when necessary.

When he heard about the recent fires in Hanoi , he installed fire-fighting balls all over the ceiling of the garage. The students jokingly called them lanterns. From the ground floor to the fourth floor, there were automatic lights, so if there was a power outage, the house would still be brightly lit for everyone to handle.

"Everyone's safety is paramount. Money can be earned, but human life cannot be bought with money. I do this out of my responsibility, considering it as spending money to buy peace of mind for myself and everyone else," he said.

According to him, survival skills are essential for everyone to know. He often posts these skills on groups for his tenants to read. He also tells his friends to find an escape route wherever they go, so that in case of an emergency, they will know where to run.

"During our 40th year reunion, my class went boating. The tour guide kept pointing out scenic spots. However, I raised my hand and asked: 'Miss, can you tell me where the emergency exit is and where the lifebuoy is?' She smiled and pointed to the lifebuoy under the seat," he said.

Minh Anh (25 years old, a tenant at Mr. Tam's house) said she is living alone for 3.5 million VND/room. After reading the news of fires and explosions, she saw that the landlord bought more fire prevention equipment, such as installing smoke-proof doors, buying more fire extinguishers, etc. without charging extra money.

She felt secure knowing that her place was fully equipped with fire protection. In case of an accident, the guests would have the equipment to respond promptly. Not only that, the landlord also posted notices everywhere in the house and sent text messages detailing how to handle the situation.

"I also bought an induction cooker to use, saying no to gas cookers to limit fires and explosions. Reading information about fires that happened, I was very sad and wanted to contribute a little of my effort to fire prevention in the place where I live," she said.

It is known that this "5-star" landlord also reduced the rent for 3 days during Tet, gave rice, vegetables, meat to tenants during the epidemic season,... Such small gifts but everyone liked them and liked them a lot.
