Transfer to police for further investigation

The above information was stated by the People's Committee of Bac Ha district ( Lao Cai ) in the report on the results of the inspection and verification of the content of the incident "11 students eating 2 packages of instant noodles with rice" at Hoang Thu Pho 1 Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.

Bac Ha District confirmed that there was a cut, causing 11 students to eat white rice with two packs of instant noodles. Because some of the content that needed to be verified involved many people, at different times, and was complex, some of the content was transferred to Bac Ha District Police for further investigation and verification.

The report clearly pointed out a number of violations at Hoang Thu Pho 1 Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities such as: not having a list of payments for leftover meals for students, the principal has not signed many food import and export documents.

The cash payment voucher has no number and no signature of the principal or the recipient. The daily food purchase table does not match the monthly food table.

The People's Committee of Bac Ha district also informed that it had received a resignation letter from Mr. Tran Ngoc Ha, Principal of Hoang Thu Pho 1 Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, for the reason that he took responsibility for his leadership and direction, leading to negative public opinion in society.

In the first semester of this school year, Hoang Thu Pho 1 School has 174 boarding students, who are entitled to support policies from the Government . Of which, the cost of meals is more than 501 million for 4 months. In addition, the cost for 5 cooks is 54 million VND (2.7 million/person/month). By the end of October, this school had settled nearly 250 million VND through the Treasury.

Previously, the press reported that boarding meals showed signs of being cut back, with 11 students having to share two packs of instant noodles with rice at Hoang Thu Pho 1 Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Bac Ha District, causing a stir in public opinion.

Besides instant noodles for breakfast, for lunch and dinner, students were only given a little chopped ham and vegetable soup, even though the board showed 14 kg of pork and 11 kg of bones.

In another meal, the school fed students tofu and soup, lacking meat and bones as the bulletin board stated.

The principal insisted that the meal was adequate, while the students said they were "not full yet", and that they had picked up all the food but still hadn't finished the white rice. The kitchen staff said that the amount of food they received to cook was only one-third of the publicly announced quantity.

The Government and the Ministry of Education and Training also requested the People's Committee of Lao Cai province to clearly verify the content reported by the press and strictly handle relevant groups and individuals if there are violations.
