(NLĐO) - Hai giải cao nhất tại hội thi tên lửa nước TP HCM năm 2025 đều thuộc về Trường THCS Lê Thành Công, huyện Nhà Bè.

On June 15, 150 teams from 105 secondary and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City competed in the 15th Ho Chi Minh City Water Rocket Competition in 2025. The competition was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, with the aim of promoting and developing the creative movement among the city's youth. This year's competition was held at Logistics College 2 (Thu Duc City).

Despite having to compete in hot weather conditions, the students tried their best to pass the rounds, including: long-range water rocket shooting, high-altitude water rocket shooting, and long-range water rocket shooting that hit the target.

This year's contest has 450 contestants who are secondary and high school students in Ho Chi Minh City participating.

Vo Nhat Gia Huy, a student at Pham Van Sang High School (Hoc Mon District), said that the team applied the physics knowledge previously taught by teachers such as pressure and thrust to this competition. "Thanks to the competition, I had a lot of practice, so I could visualize and remember the knowledge I learned at school more easily. The moment I saw the water rocket I created launch far away was very exciting" - Huy said with a smile.

In round 1, long-range water rocket shooting, each team has 1 turn, can shoot up to 3 rockets within 90 seconds into the competition area. Each team can place up to 3 launchers and 3 rockets in the firing preparation area.

In round 2, high-altitude water rockets with parachutes, within 2 minutes, teams are only allowed to fire 1 high-altitude water rocket with parachute within the competition area.

In round 3, long-range water rocket shooting to hit the target, each team is allowed to shoot 3 water rockets within 2 minutes and shoot at the scoring target on the field. The score of round 3 is the total score that the 3 water rockets shoot past the target square.

In the high-altitude water rocket parachute shooting round, many teams encountered technical problems.

The rocket soared high and opened its parachute to the cheers of the crowd.

Despite the hot weather, the teams were still very excited.

Mr. Tran Duc Su, Deputy Director of the Center for Youth Science and Technology Development, said that the contest is not only a playground for exchanging knowledge, applying science and creativity, but also an opportunity to promote passion for science and creativity among young people.

After the exciting and intense competition rounds, 2 teams from Le Thanh Cong Secondary School (Nha Be District) won the first and second prizes. The third prize went to Bui Van Thu Secondary School (Hoc Mon District). In addition, the organizing committee also awarded 17 consolation prizes to the teams.
