Training students to be able to 'combat' in the labor market

This is the content emphasized at the 2024 Labor Conference of the National Economics University held recently.

Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President of the National Economics University, said that the close connection between businesses, socio-political organizations and training institutions creates a breakthrough in innovation in teaching content. This contributes to improving the effectiveness of training linked to practice, creating a fit with the needs of businesses, organizations in particular and the labor market in general.

Enterprises demonstrate their responsibility in training their own human resources by ordering training, participating deeply in the training organization process, and providing suggestions for adjusting teaching content to link with practical work solutions.

Within the framework of the conference, the discussion "Enhancing training linked to economic integration practices" created a forum for delegates to exchange and discuss hot issues such as how to make students "combat-ready" after graduation, what solutions to connect schools and businesses...

Mr. Phan Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pro Sports Company, expressed that creating conditions for students after graduation to have the ability to "practice" to participate in the labor market is important. The problem is how to both study and "practice".

“I think the solution to this problem must be implemented from all three sides. First, students must be motivated and find their own economic journey. Second, schools need to have programs that are close to reality. Third, businesses need to share and truly connect, and must put themselves in a training relationship with schools,” Mr. Chinh said.

In response to suggestions from businesses and recruitment organizations on enhancing training linked to practice, Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of Training Management Department, National Economics University, said that the school has included in all regular university training programs applied from Course 66 (enrollment in 2024) the subject "Practical Topic - 4 credits" to increase the practical content in the training process.

At the same time, the subject "Basic Data Science in Economics & Business - 3 credits" is included in all regular university training programs applied from Course 66 to equip students with basic knowledge and skills about data, technology, and engineering.

In addition, the school continues to maintain and increase resources and decentralize to faculties and training institutes to organize field trips and experiences for students (at least once a year), build a wide network of connections with the business community and practical organizations through periodic and annual activities such as internship days and job fairs for students.
