On the morning of June 27, gasoline prices increased slightly by about 0.3%. At 7:45 a.m. (Vietnam time), Brent crude oil prices increased by 14 cents to 66.83 USD/barrel; US WTI crude oil prices increased by 16 cents, trading at 65.4 USD/barrel.
Both crudes recovered from sharp declines earlier in the week after data showed strong U.S. gasoline demand. However, Brent crude prices are still lower than the June 12 closing price of $69.36 a barrel, a day before Israel launched airstrikes on Iran.
Reuters cited data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) as saying that US crude oil and fuel inventories fell last week as refining activity and fuel demand both increased. Specifically, crude oil inventories fell by 5.8 million barrels, far exceeding expectations for a decrease of 797,000 barrels in a Reuters survey.

Another factor supporting oil prices is the US dollar index, which fell to a three-year low after reports that US President Donald Trump is considering a new Federal Reserve chairman sooner than expected, raising expectations of an interest rate cut. A weaker US dollar makes oil cheaper for holders of other currencies, boosting demand.
However, the risk of supply from the Middle East, although cooling down, still restrains the increase in oil prices. According to Reuters, US President Donald Trump affirmed that the US will continue to maintain maximum pressure on Iran, including measures to limit oil exports.
Domestically, yesterday afternoon (June 26), the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade adjusted the prices of all petroleum products. Specifically, the price of E5RON92 gasoline increased by VND280/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by VND263/liter; diesel increased by VND551/liter; kerosene increased by VND494/liter. In particular, the price of fuel oil decreased by VND374/liter this period.
After adjustment, on the morning of June 27, the retail prices of popular petroleum products on the market are as follows: E5RON92 gasoline is no higher than VND20,911/liter; RON95-III gasoline is no higher than VND21,507/liter; 0.05S diesel is no higher than VND19,707/liter; kerosene is no higher than VND19,417/liter; 180CST 3.5S fuel oil is no higher than VND17,269/kg./.
