Previously, at about 8:30 p.m. on August 21, fishing boat CM-05978-TS, captained by Mr. Nguyen Van T. (born in 1993, residing in Khanh Lam commune, Ca Mau province), along with a crew member on board, was operating about 2 nautical miles west of Kinh Hoi estuary when it suffered a water break, engine failure, combined with big waves and strong winds, and the fishing boat drifted at sea.
Immediately after receiving the news, Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station immediately dispatched a working group of 8 officers and soldiers and mobilized fishing boat CM-95229-TS of Ms. Lam Thi Hoa (Khanh Lam commune, Ca Mau) and 2 mobile crew members to the location of the fishing boat in distress to rescue fishermen and tow the fishing boat to shore.
At about 10:20 p.m. the same day, the unit's working group ship approached, rescued two fishermen, brought them safely aboard and towed the distressed fishing boat to shore.
Afterwards, Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station took care of the health of the two fishermen in distress. Currently, the health and spirit of the fishermen are stable.
