For the first time, VAT on gasoline products has been reduced.

(DN)- From July 1, the policy of reducing value added tax (VAT) on gasoline products officially took effect. This is an important content in Resolution No. 204/2025/QH15 issued by the National Assembly. This Resolution takes effect from July 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026.

Specifically, in this resolution, gasoline is for the first time subject to VAT reduction from 10% to 8%. According to the Ministry of Finance , although gasoline is subject to special consumption tax, it is still proposed to reduce VAT because this is an important commodity for many production and business sectors as well as people's lives, the increase or decrease will directly impact domestic production, consumption and macroeconomic stability.

In this adjustment, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by VND101/liter, RON 95 gasoline decreased by VND128/liter; diesel price increased by VND193/liter, kerosene increased by VND141/liter; mazut oil alone decreased by VND668/kg compared to the previous period.

After adjustment, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline is no higher than VND20,530/liter; RON 95 gasoline has a maximum retail price of VND21,116/liter; diesel oil is no higher than VND19,349/liter; kerosene is VND19,064/liter; and mazut is VND16,955/kg.

Thus, this week there will be two petrol price adjustments. The first adjustment will take effect from July 1 to reduce VAT according to the National Assembly 's resolution and the next adjustment will take place every Thursday according to regulations on petrol and oil business management.
