Most of the Lunar New Year holidays of universities in the North last more than 10 days so that students who are far from home can have more time with their families. At the same time, schools can also proactively arrange training plans, and the school year time frame does not affect the students' learning path.

On November 26, the Government Office issued a document conveying the Prime Minister's instructions on Lunar New Year holidays and some holidays in 2025.
Accordingly, the Prime Minister agreed to let cadres, civil servants and public employees nationwide have 9 consecutive days off, including 5 days off for Lunar New Year and 4 days off every week from January 25 (ie December 26, year of Giap Thin) to February 2 (ie January 5, year of At Ty).
The Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs is responsible for notifying administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations, enterprises and workers as prescribed.
Agencies and units shall arrange and organize on-duty departments according to regulations and work reasonably to handle continuous work, ensuring good service to the organization and the people, in which it is important to assign officers and civil servants to be on-duty to handle sudden and unexpected work that may occur during Tet and holidays according to regulations.
