To help parents and students better understand the regulations on participating in student health insurance in the 2025-2026 school year, Vietnam Social Security provides specific information as follows:
Subjects participating in student health insurance: Subjects participating in student health insurance are students studying at educational institutions in the national education system, including civilian students studying at military and public security schools (except for those who have participated in other groups).
Place to register for student health insurance: Students register for health insurance at the educational and training institution where they are studying and follow the instructions.
Method and level of student health insurance payment
- Regarding payment method: Students can choose to pay health insurance periodically every 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months.
- Regarding monthly contribution: Equal to 4.5% of basic salary, corresponding to the contribution amount (not including support from the state budget):
2,340,000 VND/month (basic salary) x 4.5% = 105,300 VND/month (1,263,600 VND/year)
Accordingly, the amount of health insurance premiums for students (after deducting the 50% reduction support from the State budget) is specifically:
Pay for 3 months = 52,650 VND x 03 months = 157,950 VND
Pay for 6 months = 52,650 VND x 06 months = 315,900 VND
Pay for 12 months = 52,650 VND x 12 months = 631,800 VND
