Outside is a splendid signboard reading "Busan Aesthetic Institute" at 120 Quang Trung (Da Nang City), inside is another world - where consultations are carried out by public hospital doctors, attractive invitations with "shockingly preferential" prices for "private area" beautification services for only 2 million VND.

But that's just bait. When entering this facility, customers will face masked "doctors" with no identity, no practice certificate, makeshift minor surgery rooms located separately in a building that is both a beauty salon and a... restaurant.

From here began the signs of drawing illness, forcing prices, and making money right on the operating table.

Don't miss... "Doctor Lan"

Customers just need to type the phrase "vaginal rejuvenation", "private area aesthetics Da Nang " and a series of fanpages will appear with names like "Dr. Lan - Private area aesthetics specialist, Da Nang branch", "Ths/Bs Lan - Eva cosmetic specialist - Da Nang branch"...

These sites claim to be "Dr Lan medical aesthetic system" with images of spacious facilities, modern medical staff and equipment.

As soon as we left our phone number, the person playing the role of "Dr. Lan's medical aesthetic system operator" immediately called, saying that he would connect us to a "nurse from Da Nang General Hospital" for direct consultation, then said that he could also provide consultation.

"We are the consulting system of Da Nang General Hospital. Doctor Lan is working at this hospital. This is our second facility at 124 Hai Phong , the first facility is at 120 Quang Trung Street, almost opposite.

Dr. Lan is famous, she is almost 50 years old. No one is unfamiliar with Dr. Lan, she has two main facilities in Da Nang, private practice and is currently working in a hospital with 13 years of experience specializing in cosmetic surgery to restore the vagina, working with Dr. Dung.

Every year, Da Nang General Hospital only has two promotions at the beginning and end of the year. It's overloaded, Dr. Lan has to refuse many cases. We are very crowded now, but if it's convenient for you, come by and I'll arrange it for you."

Next, they invited her to come for a check-up at the facility at 120 Quang Trung. This consultant did not forget to "entice" the customer with a combo of "labiaplasty - pinkening" for only 2 million VND, affirming "original price 6 million VND", "a preferential package from Da Nang General Hospital on the occasion of Doctor Lan's birthday and gratitude month".

Along with that are words that hit the sensitive psychology of many women, especially after giving birth. The introduction will be done by cold ray technology, magnetic wave, cutting without bleeding, returning to normal activities...

"Please make an appointment early. It's very difficult to make an appointment with the doctor. I have to wait for more than 10 cases to be scheduled..." - this person said quickly, while urging customers to come for a free check-up and "do it if you like."

When hearing that we wanted to have our "baby" re-made at the second hospital for peace of mind, this person said to go to the first hospital for a check-up and then transfer to the second hospital for the procedure. At the same time, the clinic sent a picture of two people in white coats with the introduction that these were Dr. Lan and Dr. Dung, and we were chosen to have Dr. Lan perform the procedure.

"Doctor Lan" and the separate room behind the restaurant

After making an appointment, we decided to go inside this facility. At the address advertised as facility 1, there was no "Dr. Lan clinic". Instead, there was a sign "BUSAN Aesthetic Institute" located next to a large restaurant (also at 120 Quang Trung Street). This facility was a 4-story house with a rather narrow frontage.

The staff led the client to the second floor for consultation, then to the fourth floor - where the minor surgery room was located. This room was actually located above the restaurant, separated by a locked door. Inside the room were two minor surgery beds, an autoclave, a stainless steel cabinet, a surgical lamp and some rudimentary equipment. There was no doctor's nameplate, practice certificate or public price list.

A man named Phuong Nguyen (26 years old) wearing a white blouse helped clean the "private area". A few minutes later, a man wearing a blue surgical gown, hair covered, mask and glasses, calling himself "doctor Lan" appeared. But that person was completely different from the person in the photo of "doctor Lan".

Collect money in advance, deposit required if you hesitate

There is no 3D technology as advertised. The reporter was asked to lie on the table, hold a mirror to look at his private area to get advice. Although he said he had no special condition, the person claiming to be a doctor suggested a 2 million VND package, pay and do it right away to be more beautiful, "heal in 5-7 days", lifetime warranty.

When the reporter refused to work here and asked to transfer to Da Nang Hospital as introduced, this person started to say difficult things: "Working at the hospital is inconvenient for me, it's crowded so I have to wait to get a number, it costs 3 million instead of 2 million like working here, after I finish the work I have to stay for observation all day. After I finish the work here I can go home right away...".

Seeing that the "prey" showed signs of retreating, "Doctor Lan" immediately asked for a deposit to hold the offer, from 500,000 to 1 million VND. When the reporter tactfully refused and prepared to leave, a "chase" began.

Nguyen - the examination assistant - hurriedly chased down to the second floor to hold the customer back by all means. Not wanting to miss the "bait", another employee appeared and gathered around to ask for a stake right on the first floor area.

When asked for an invoice, the staff replied "No, only the customer file" and kept affirming that the facility was affiliated with Da Nang Hospital.

To increase credibility, Nguyen quickly opened his phone to "show" evidence, which was a chat in an internal group.

"Here, we update many customer profiles every day, a whole system, not just word of mouth. All customers are in Da Nang, I wrote the profile here, not anyone else..." - Nguyen said while scrolling through his phone, pointing to the message section showing that he had just updated the customer profile.

After this infiltration session, the reporter continued to contact and request to have the minor surgery performed on the same day at the hospital as initially promised. However, the staff still insisted on returning to the clinic to complete the procedure first, asserting that "it would still be done at the hospital", trying to keep the customer back to the facility.

Upon verification, the images of Dr. Lan and Dr. Dung sent by the facility were actually downloaded from the Internet, and were images of a clinic in the North. The images of modern medical facilities were also cropped, edited, with logos added, and fake signs attached.

"There is no Dr. Lan at Da Nang Hospital"

Dr. Thai Ba Sy, Head of the Personnel Department of Da Nang Hospital, confirmed: "The hospital does not have any doctor named Lan working in the field of aesthetics and obstetrics and gynecology. There is no connection with Busan cosmetic clinic or Dr. Lan as advertised.

As soon as the impersonation information was verified, the hospital quickly reported to the Department of Health leaders to get involved.

How many fake "Drs" are still practicing?

Who is behind the names Dr. Hang, Dr. Trang, Dr. Ngoc? The urgent calls, the attractive invitations... point to the same strange destination in the center of Da Nang city.

The deeper the reporter went into the "private area" cosmetic surgery ring, the more flashy names he discovered: "Dr. Hang - the golden hand of the Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital's vaginal surgery", "Dr. Trang - who worked at Military Hospital 175", "Dr. Ngoc with decades of experience"...

When contacted one by one, all of these fanpages lead to the same address: 89 Thai Phien, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City. Not only that, some also advertise that they have facilities in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, offering door-to-door pick-up and drop-off services.

The consulting voice is the same, the sales script is the same: urgent appointment, the doctor is "busy with surgery", and the address is unchanged. There is even a "doctor" introduced as 50 years old with... 40 years of experience (practicing since 10 years old? - PV).

A person named Yen, who claimed to be a "doctor's assistant", advised: "Doctor Hang is over 50 years old and is working at the maternity and pediatric hospital. She has a private office at 89 Thai Phien." But when asked a few basic questions about the maternity and pediatric hospital and Dr. Hang, Yen seemed confused.

Number 89 Thai Phien - the place introduced as the address of many "Dr" - is a 4-story house with a sign "Korea". People living nearby said that this facility has only been open for a few months, and no elderly doctors have been seen coming in or out.

The reporter contacted the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital for verification. Hospital leaders said that Dr. Hang is an obstetrician and gynecologist.

Doctor Tran Thi Le Hang was surprised to hear that her name was impersonated: "I was surprised when I heard the news. I can't believe they could borrow my name to do that. I confirm that I do not have a facility or work at Korea beauty salon as they said."
