Parents wait in the sun for hours at the school gate for students

On the morning of June 26, 19,930 candidates from Quang Ninh entered the first exam - Literature at 849 exam rooms across the province.

Security and control work is tightened at exam sites.

According to Tien Phong Newspaper, at Hon Gai High School, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, many relatives of students gathered at the school gate.

Many parents took their children directly to the school gate and said they felt worried when their children entered the exam room.

At nearly 7 o'clock, the school gate closed, signaling that it was almost time for the Literature exam. Parents of the students were still gathered outside the school gate.

The National High School Graduation Exam is the most important exam in the entire 12 years of schooling. That is also the reason why many parents temporarily put aside their work to accompany and encourage their children to "pass the gate" in this final challenge.

"This morning I asked for leave to take my child to the exam. The exam was stressful for my child, but as parents, we were even more worried. I waited for my child to finish the Literature exam for nearly 2 hours to pick him up. I was afraid that if he didn't finish the exam, I would feel sad!", Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh, a resident of Ha Long City, shared.

Near the time to distribute the exam papers, the Board of Supervisors suddenly announced that some candidates were not present in the exam room, making the parents worried.

Immediately, the youth volunteers and parents tried to contact the homeroom teacher and the parents of the candidates to update them on the situation. "We have prepared our forces and will go to the candidates' homes to take them to the exam site," a member of the Ha Long City Youth Union shared.

The weather at many exam sites in Quang Ninh province on the first day was quite harsh. Many parents were not only worried that their children would not be able to do the test, which would affect their psychology, but also worried that the candidates would not have enough health to complete the test well.

Parents shared that before the exam, the family talked happily and comfortably so as not to put pressure on their children so that they could take the exam in the most relaxed mood. But in the position of parents waiting for their children to take the exam outside the school gate, many parents confessed: "Standing outside waiting for their children is more nervous than their own children taking the exam. Many times we encourage each other but it is the parents who are most pressured."
