Was the youngest candidate for associate professor
Associate Professor Dr. Vo Hoang Hung (38 years old), Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Information Technology at Saigon University, is the youngest professor candidate in Vietnam this year. Five years ago, when he was only 33 years old, Associate Professor Dr. Hung was the youngest associate professor candidate in Vietnam.
Associate Professor, Dr. Vo Hoang Hung graduated from the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University), received his master's degree from Paris XIII University, and his doctorate from Paris VI University (France) in the field of differential and integral equations.

Associate Professor Dr. Hung's research directions are inverse problems, partial differential equations, nonlinear analysis, non-integer analysis and biological problems.
Associate Professor, Dr. Vo Hoang Hung had many outstanding achievements in mathematics while studying at Ly Tu Trong High School for the Gifted ( Can Tho ). Accordingly, in grade 10, Mr. Hung won a gold medal in the April 30 Olympic competition, and in grade 11, he won first prize in mathematics in the excellent student competition for grade 12 students in the Mekong Delta region.
In grade 12, he won third prize in the national math competition, so he was admitted directly to the math-informatics department of the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) and then graduated with honors in the talented bachelor program.
After working at the University of Natural Sciences and Saigon University, up to now, Associate Professor Dr. Hung has guided 2 PhD students to successfully defend their theses, published 23 scientific articles, of which 21 were in prestigious international journals and published a book at a prestigious publishing house.
He also won the award for outstanding mathematical work from the Ministry of Education and Training in 2023, participated in training the student Math Olympiad team in analytical mathematics of Saigon University since 2019 and always won prizes.

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quoc Trung (39 years old) is the second youngest professor candidate in Vietnam in 2025, currently Deputy Director of Campus II of Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Trung received his bachelor's degree from the Foreign Trade University and was recruited as a lecturer by the university immediately after graduation. Mr. Trung has two master's degrees, one in business administration from the Foreign Trade University, the other in law, economics and management from the University of Lille 2, part of the University of Lille, France. He also obtained his doctorate from the University of Lille in management science.
Associate Professor, Dr. Trung's main research interests include financial management, corporate governance and enterprise risk management under the impact of the business environment; goods and services trading in the context of international economic integration and digital transformation. Mr. Trung has guided two PhD students to successfully defend their theses.
During his scientific career, Mr. Trung has chaired a national-level project, a Nafosted Fund project, and published 76 scientific articles, of which 35 were in prestigious international journals, 27 articles were the sole author/main author; published 2 monographs by prestigious publishers in the world, one textbook and 5 monographs published by prestigious domestic publishers.
Award-winning mathematical work
Associate Professor Dr. Do Duc Thuan (40 years old) is the third youngest professor candidate in Vietnam this year. Mr. Thuan is currently the Director of the Mathematics and Information Technology Training Program at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. He was the youngest associate professor in Vietnam in 2017 at the age of 32.

Mr. Thuan has spent a lot of time doing research abroad, such as postdoctoral research at the Technical University of Berlin (Germany); invited papers at the Industrial Mathematics Conference in Fukuoka, Japan; invited research at the University of Graz (Austria), invited papers at the Vietnam-Korea Conference on Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems 2025, Jeju (Korea). In Vietnam, he worked as a researcher at the Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics.
The main research directions of Associate Professor, Dr. Thuan include research on controllability and robust controllability of control systems and degenerate systems subject to disturbances; stability and robust stabilization of control systems and degenerate systems subject to disturbances; and steadiness and robust stabilization of control systems and degenerate systems subject to disturbances.
Up to now, Mr. Thuan has guided 4 doctoral students to successfully defend their theses; completed 1 state-level scientific research topic and 1 ministerial-level one.
The number of scientific articles Mr. Thuan has published is 47, of which 46 articles are published in prestigious international journals. He has also published 3 books in prestigious publishers.
Notably, in 2023, Associate Professor Dr. Do Duc Thuan won the award for outstanding mathematical work in the National Key Program for Mathematics Development 2020-2030.
