Prime Minister: VinFuture 2024 has brought together giants in world science

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that Vietnam is committed to continuing to strongly improve the science , technology and innovation environment as he called for support from domestic and foreign scientists at the VinFuture 2024 award ceremony.

The VinFuture 2024 Award Ceremony is taking place at Hoan Kiem Theater (Hanoi) with the participation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh .

This is an important moment to honor breakthrough inventions and technologies, selected from nearly 1,500 research projects nominated by more than 9,000 partners from more than 80 countries and territories around the world.

Science and technology are the shortest way to breakthrough.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the significance of the VinFuture Prize in honoring groundbreaking research and inventions with far-reaching impacts, helping humanity overcome difficulties and reach new heights.

He emphasized that the Science and Technology Week within the framework of VinFuture 2024 and today's award ceremony "gathered the elite and giants" of world science with outstanding scientific achievements.

Four scientific works in particular were honored for their coverage of core areas such as computer science, public health, global health, materials science and regenerative medicine.

The works honored today are all breakthrough initiatives, important solutions to solve common global, national, comprehensive challenges and contribute to shaping the future of the world.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also highly appreciated billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong and his wife for the formation, development and affirmation of the international stature of the VinFuture Prize.

The Head of Government emphasized that VinFuture has become one of the prestigious annual science awards, inspiring global cooperation and connecting creative ideas to solve challenges.

"That is in line with Vietnam's development strategy, where science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are identified as one of the important pillars of the country's rapid and sustainable development," the Prime Minister affirmed.

Addressing the international guests present at the award ceremony, the Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam always pays special attention to science, technology and innovation.

Vietnam considers this an objective requirement, a strategic choice, a top priority and a national policy to promote rapid and sustainable development in the new era, striving for national prosperity and wealth as General Secretary To Lam has directed.

In an effort to "catch up, keep pace, break through and surpass", Vietnam clearly identifies the special importance, prioritizes resources and focuses on perfecting institutions, mechanisms and policies for science and technology development, innovation, especially in emerging and especially important industries and fields such as digital transformation, green transformation of creative economy, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing.
