Quang Tri High School received the Third Class Independence Medal

GD&TĐ - After 50 years of development, Quang Tri High School has affirmed itself as a prestigious educational address and a key high-quality school in the locality.

On the morning of August 16, Quang Tri High School (Quang Tri province) celebrated its 50th anniversary (1975-2025) and received the Third Class Independence Medal.

Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Dr. Le Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri, leaders of departments, branches, and wards of Quang Tri; generations of former staff, teachers, and students of the school.

After the country's reunification, on August 16, 1975, the Revolutionary People's Committee of Quang Tri province decided to establish Trieu Phong High School, laying the foundation for the development of high school in the South of the province.

Authorized by the President , Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council awarded the Independence Medal to Quang Tri High School.

To suit the historical conditions of each period, the school has changed its name many times to Trieu Hai High School No. 1, Quang Tri Town High School and now Quang Tri High School.

From the old thatched roofs, bamboo and leaves, Quang Tri High School has now been built more and more spacious, with modern facilities, meeting the increasingly high demands of educational activities.

Ms. Phan Thien Nga - Principal of Quang Tri High School said that in half a century of construction and development, the school has grown stronger and stronger to affirm its brand of quality education. From a scale of 3 classes with 115 students, it has now developed into 30 classes with more than 1,300 students annually.

Since the 2015 school year, the graduation rate has been 100%; the university and college entrance rate has been from 90% to 100%. Many students have been valedictorians and salutatorians of universities, and many have achieved the scores to study abroad.

Dr. Le Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province, awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training to the school representative.

The provincial excellent student competitions all achieved high results, ranking first for many consecutive years. By the 2024-2025 school year, the total number of provincial-level awards was nearly 3,050, of which 1,838 were provincial-level cultural excellent student awards. National and regional excellent student awards in culture, sports, science and technology, English competitions, online math competitions, and casio achieved 149 awards of all kinds.

Notably, the school was honored to have 3 students in the final round of the “Road to Olympia” competition, one winning the Champion and one the Runner-up. Three students from the school participated in the international Science and Technology competition in the US, one won the Third Prize in 2017 and two won the Fourth Prize in 2025.

Mr. Hoang Minh Long, former Principal of the school, talked about the difficult early stages of building the school and was happy with the achievements after 50 years.

Over half a century, with persistent and creative efforts, Quang Tri High School has continuously grown stronger, asserting itself comprehensively to be worthy of being a high-quality key school.

To have that quality of education, we cannot fail to mention the great contributions of teachers who have devoted all their efforts to their beloved students and the cause of educating people.

Quang Tri provincial leaders presented gifts to the school on its 50th anniversary.

The principal of Quang Tri High School said that in the past 50 years, the school has trained nearly 25,000 high school graduates. Many former students have grown up on the path of education to become masters, doctors, associate professors, professors and have achieved success in many fields of politics, economics, military, science, culture and education.

Generations of students are present in all parts of the homeland and country and have promoted the good qualities formed from this beloved school, making worthy contributions to the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the fatherland.

Individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training.

In recognition of the outstanding achievements of the staff and teachers, the Minister of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit to the collective and individuals of Quang Tri High School.
