Speaking at the event, Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan - President of the Vietnam Film Promotion and Development Association (VFDA) emphasized the strong development of Vietnamese cinema over the past decade, with a growth rate of 15 - 20% per year. At the same time, she affirmed the bridging role of VFDA - an organization that plays the role of a Film Commission and contributes its voice to the state in building laws and cinema policies.

Through initiatives such as the Film Attraction Index (PAI) and the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF), VFDA has contributed to the development of Vietnamese cinema along with the regional cinema industry. She also respectfully invited international friends to Da Nang city to attend DANAFF IV in 2026, scheduled to be held from June 28 to July 4.

What's at the Vietnam Night event?

The event received enthusiastic attention and congratulations from leaders, experts and filmmakers in the region. Many familiar faces to Korean audiences appeared at Vietnam Night, such as Oh Ji Ho ( Second Proposal ), Jung Joon Ho ( Hitman, Iris ), Lee Yoon-mi ( My Name is Kim Sam Soon ), Choi Jaesung, Kim Min ( A Shop for Killers ), Choi Jaesung ( The Iron Empress ) and Vietnamese actress Do Thi Hai Yen with her much-anticipated comeback in the film Quan Ky Nam by director Leon Le (entered in the category A Window of Asian Cinema BIFF 2025). At the event, actor Jung Joon Ho expressed: “I am very happy to be present in this free and open atmosphere. We are all here who love Vietnamese cinema in particular and cinema in general. This year's Da Nang Asian Film Festival also saw the presence of veteran Korean directors, with many outstanding works being screened.”

At the event, actor Park Sung Woong expressed that the most memorable moment of Vietnam Night was when he met and greeted the audience and Vietnamese experts and had the opportunity to go on stage to express his thanks. Through exchange and cooperation, Vietnam and Korea can create a strong resonance effect, contributing to promoting the development of the film industry in general.

The Idol Nation actress shared: “I feel very honored to participate in Vietnam Night in Korea. This is a meaningful event that not only honors Vietnamese cinema but also creates a bridge for the two cinemas of Vietnam and Korea to understand each other better and share many cultural and artistic values. Having attended DANAFF III, she added: “DANAFF left me with many beautiful impressions: from the professional organization, the vibrant cinema atmosphere to the warm welcome of the audience and international colleagues. I look forward to the next DANAFF season continuing to expand in scale, attracting more international projects."

One of the important highlights of Vietnam Night is the introduction of two upcoming film projects. In particular, Ho linh trang si - Bi bi mo vuong Dinh is a historical-fantasy film inspired by the legend of the tomb of King Dinh Tien Hoang. In addition, Saigon Oppa is a Vietnamese-Korean cooperation project, directed by Park Gyu Tea - the man behind the resounding success of the hit comedy Bong dang mat so - taking on the role of director.
