When will the Hue tourist train be?

On March 1, the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province had a working session with Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) on deploying the Hue - Da Nang tourist train.

Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province, said that recently the locality has directed departments, branches and sectors to assess and survey the current traffic situation between Hue and Da Nang, tourist groups and forms of travel; and work with the Thua Thien - Hue Tourism Association to discuss cooperation solutions with VNR to operate the Hue - Da Nang train.

Mr. Minh said that to deploy the Hue - Da Nang tourist train, it is necessary to evaluate and identify the main group of customers using this route as a means of transportation to choose a suitable implementation plan; study similar models to come up with a suitable plan.

The construction of services on the Hue - Da Nang route must be different in the direction of train services with route experiences and tourist services on the route and on the train as well as at the destinations of Hue, Da Nang, Lang Co. At the same time, it contributes to ensuring traffic connections for people between the two localities.

Develop implementation plans to be able to combine with tourism and travel businesses and related businesses between the two cities, creating close cooperation between VNR with Da Nang and Thua Thien - Hue, tourism and service businesses in the two localities.

At the meeting, relevant units focused on discussing contents related to operational cooperation plans, train running capacity, passenger transport volume, product and service innovation plans to improve food quality, improve train car quality, add entertainment services on train cars...

Mr. Dang Sy Manh, Chairman of the Board of Members of VNR, said that the deployment of the Hue - Da Nang tourist train meets the criteria of safety and comfort for passengers. This is a very suitable service for those experiencing with their families, helping tourists to admire the scenery of mountains, beaches, etc.

According to Mr. Manh, the advantage of transporting passengers by rail on this route is that both Hue and Da Nang stations are located in the city center, with a large volume of domestic and foreign passengers needing to travel in both directions, making it convenient for passengers to travel. VNR is ready to cooperate with tourism businesses to discuss and develop the most optimal train operating and business plans to achieve the goals set by all parties.

At the meeting, units and localities agreed on a number of plans and solutions to soon put into operation the Hue - Da Nang tourist train on March 26.
