In the first two episodes of the movie Father's Gift, it can be seen that on the surface, Mr. Nhan's family (Meritorious Artist Vo Hoai Nam) is very admirable with a successful eldest son, a daughter about to graduate from the conservatory, and a youngest son who is also ambitious.

However, in the preview of Father's Gift episode 3 of the film, Nghia's (Tuan Tu) life is increasingly suffocating. His mother-in-law (NSND Minh Hoa) takes him to meet a business partner, but she openly despises her son-in-law. After criticizing the shirt Nghia wears as "cheap", she also sarcastically says:

Meanwhile, due to lack of money, Thao (Ngoc Huyen) goes to the tutoring center to ask for an advance salary. Here, she finds out that Ms. Nguyet (the person who introduced Thao to work at the center) has received her salary a few days ago.
