Billiards: Tran Quyet Chien enters the match, facing his fateful opponent

On August 19, Tran Quyet Chien and the top Vietnamese players officially entered the final round of the 3-cushion carom tournament Million Cup 2025, taking place in Ho Chi Minh City.

Top players take to the field

After 3 days of exciting competition (from August 15 to 18) in the qualifying round, 16 excellent players have won tickets to the final round, starting today (August 19). Here, 16 players who passed the qualifying round and 16 top players in Vietnam such as Tran Quyet Chien, Tran Thanh Luc, Bao Phuong Vinh... were divided equally into 8 groups (each group has 4 players). In this round, the players will compete in a round robin to calculate points and rank. The top two players in each group will advance to the knockout round (16 players).

Tran Quyet Chien is in group F with Dinh Quang Hai, Tran Chi Thanh and Ngo Le Duy. Vietnam's number 1 player will play his first match of the final round against Quang Hai at 11am. Then, the player who won 4 World Cup billiards championships will play the second match at 2pm, and the third match at 5pm.

Tran Quyet Chien is a strong candidate for the championship.

The encounter between Tran Quyet Chien and Dinh Quang Hai is quite a fateful match. Exactly half a month ago (August 5), these two players competed in the final match of the HBSF billiards tournament, stage 2. At that time, the number 1 player in Vietnam defeated Dinh Quang Hai and won the championship. The rematch between the two players who are no longer strangers to each other promises to be exciting.

Matches in groups A, B, C, D will take place at: 9:30, 12:30, 15:30. Meanwhile, matches in groups E, F, G, H will take place at: 11:00, 14:00 and 17:00.
