Information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health on August 23 said, The Department of Health is evaluating the quality of cosmetic clinics, and the results will be made public to help people have more reliable information to choose when they need cosmetic services. The Department is also urgently updating and adding features to the application "Look up medical examination and treatment places" so that people can "rate" clinics.

Last week, the Department also scored and evaluated the quality results of 7 cosmetic clinics with scores ranging from 1.43 to 3.21 points. Regarding the quality level assessment, the quality will correspond to the average score, with a maximum of 5 points, the lower the score, the lower the quality.

The quality results of 7 cosmetic clinics were evaluated by the Department of Health this week.

According to the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, from August 17, 2023, the Inspection and Quality Assessment Team of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health with 5 independent inspection teams has begun to inspect and assess the quality of cosmetic clinics in the area. During the inspection process, in addition to recording good practices for introduction and replication, if any clinic is found to have signs of intentionally violating legal regulations, the inspection team will make a record and transfer it to the Department of Health Inspectorate for consideration and strict handling according to regulations.

While waiting for the Ministry of Health to issue quality criteria specific to this type of clinic, the Department of Health continues to assess the quality of cosmetic surgery clinics based on criteria drafted by the Medical Examination and Treatment Quality Council of the Ho Chi Minh City Health Sector based on current legal regulations on medical examination and treatment, and relevant circulars and instructions of the Ministry of Health.

In addition, the Department of Health also coordinates with the People's Committees of districts, towns and Thu Duc City to organize surprise inspection teams of beauty establishments licensed by local authorities and resolutely handle establishments that practice beyond the scope prescribed by law. Currently, the Department of Health is adding the list of beauty establishments licensed by the People's Committees of districts (over 6,000 establishments) to the list of medical examination and treatment activities to make it easier for people to look up and determine the scope of practice of the types of establishments providing services related to aesthetics.

The Department of Health is also urgently updating and adding features to the application "Look up medical examination and treatment facilities". Accordingly, in addition to the quality assessment score attached to the name of each medical examination and treatment facility, a new activity in which people participate in "rating" clinics and hospitals after using services at medical facilities will soon be deployed. The "rating" activity helps to add a reference information channel for people to research and select before making a decision to choose a suitable medical examination and treatment facility.

In addition, recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Inspectorate has continuously fined and suspended the operations of many beauty salons and clinics that violated advertising and medical examination and treatment activities. Therefore, the Department of Health recommends that people carefully research when choosing a beauty salon when they need beauty or medical examination and treatment. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has also announced a hotline "0989.401.155" to receive specific feedback on the problem of clinics "faking illnesses and extorting money" from people.
