Through the hotline of Hai Phong Newspaper, Radio and Television, we received feedback from many people in Chan Hung commune about the construction of the inter-village road, connecting the commune axis to 3 villages: Van Doai, Trung Hung and Xuan Trai, which is prolonged and unfinished, causing difficulties for people to travel.
In early September, on the inter-village road through Van Doai village, reporters from Hai Phong Radio and Television found that many sections of the road surface were peeling off and had potholes. When it rained, the water stagnated and was slippery, and when it was sunny, it was dusty. Many vehicles had to avoid and move slowly, posing a potential risk to traffic safety.
Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, a resident of Van Doai village, said that this road was previously concreted, but due to the frequent use of small trucks, vehicles carrying agricultural products and construction materials, it quickly deteriorated after only a few years. The local government has been mobilizing people to donate land to build a new rural road since the end of 2024, but the construction has been prolonged.

According to the reporter's investigation, in December 2024, the locality started to build drainage ditches along both sides of the road, about 500 meters long, to help solve the problem of localized flooding during heavy rains. However, the road surface has not yet been constructed, making the project only solve a small part of the difficulty. Speeding up construction and upgrading the entire route is an urgent wish of the people.
Talking to reporters, comrade Pham Viet Tuyen, a cadastral officer of Chan Hung commune, said that the inter-village road of Van Doai, Trung Hung and Xuan Trai is an important route serving production and people's lives. The route has been included in the priority upgrade list in the commune's advanced new rural construction plan, implemented from December 2024. The commune coordinated with the Tien Lang area project management board to upgrade the drainage system and the entire road surface. However, the construction of this route is still stuck due to the embankment and construction of a bridge over the Bac Hung - Nam Hung irrigation canal.
There are still some problems with site clearance. Currently, there are 14 households on the route that have not agreed to hand over the site. In September, the commune government actively mobilized people to donate land for road construction, completing site clearance to ensure safety and convenience during construction.
Regarding the current status of the construction of the above-mentioned road, comrade Luong Hai Chau, Director of the Tien Lang Area Project Management Board, said that Chan Hung commune currently has more than 70 households that have not yet handed over the land to implement the project of constructing new rural roads. Regarding the road that the people requested, the construction unit has completed nearly 1 km, with 700 m remaining unfinished due to problems in site clearance and construction of bridges over irrigation canals as well as water troughs.
According to the plan, the People's Committee of Chan Hung commune will complete the site clearance in September 2025 so that the road construction can be completed in October 2025. In the immediate future, the construction of drainage ditches will be prioritized to reduce flooding and avoid further damage. For routes with available land, the unit will carry out asphalt paving. The management board hopes that the local government will pay attention to speeding up the site clearance so that the construction does not have to be "done in a haphazard manner", ensuring progress.
The common wish of more than 500 households in Van Doai, Trung Hung and Xuan Trai villages is to soon have a spacious, clean and beautiful road, meeting the needs of travel and production. In fact, upgrading this road not only serves the direct interests of the people of Chan Hung commune but also contributes to improving rural traffic infrastructure, promoting economic development and building sustainable new rural areas.

In the coming time, it is necessary to have the drastic participation of local authorities, close coordination between the project management board, the construction unit along with the consensus and support of the people. When the road is upgraded synchronously, the rural appearance here will certainly improve, contributing to improving people's lives, creating momentum for local socio-economic development.
