Hanoi approves trademark protection for Lang So vermicelli

Hanoi approved the Lang So Vermicelli Craft Village Association to register the collective trademark 'Lang So' so that traditional dong vermicelli can be protected as a trademark, elevating the local specialty.

The use of the place name “Lang So” will be carried out on the basis of the geographical map confirmed by the People’s Committee of Quoc Oai district. This decision aims to protect the brand of Lang So vermicelli specialty, and at the same time affirm the origin of the product in Cong Hoa commune, Quoc Oai district, Hanoi . The craft village association will be responsible for building and managing the system of documents and tools to control the use of collective trademarks in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Intellectual Property.

In case the place name "So Village" is used for the wrong purpose, not for the benefit of the craft village community, or if the collective trademark is transferred or converted to the form of "Certification Trademark", the right to use the place name may be revoked.

This decision contributes to increasing the value of Lang So vermicelli products in the market, while promoting the sustainable development of local traditional craft villages.
