Checking school revenues and expenditures after the incident of poor quality food in Lam Dong

(Dan Tri) - Authorities organized an interdisciplinary team to inspect boarding and food safety and hygiene after a school was accused of contracting with a supplier of poor quality food.

On September 22, the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong , decided to establish an interdisciplinary inspection team to inspect boarding work, food hygiene and safety, and non-budgetary revenue and expenditure for schools under the management of this ward.

According to the decision, the inspection team includes ward leaders, ward police, representatives of the health and education sectors. In which, Ms. Phan Thi Xuan Thao, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat is the head of the inspection team.

The interdisciplinary team will inspect the selection of food suppliers, contracts, food origin records of educational establishments and review extra-budgetary revenues and expenditures related to boarding activities. The inspection will be carried out within 30 days from September 22.

The People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat also requested the interdisciplinary team to report to the Chairman of the Ward People's Committee on weekly periodic contents and at the end of the inspection period.

The establishment of the above-mentioned interdisciplinary inspection team by the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat is a move after the scandal of TV Primary School in the locality being accused of contracting with a food supplier that did not ensure quality to provide boarding meals for students.

Previously, as Dan Tri reported, on the social network Facebook, an account named "Nguyen Thanh" posted information about a unit repeatedly providing food of poor quality to TV Primary School.

Accordingly, in the 2024-2025 school year, the supplier delivered to the school 10kg of smelly pork bones that showed signs of turning green; 35kg of frozen beef balls that smelled, without packaging or labels; 60kg of pork that, after boiling, had a dark green color and a strange smell; 50kg of wet, smelly pre-sliced ​​beef...

The incident caused public outrage, dozens of parents whose children are studying at TV Primary School went to the school to ask the principal for information about the incident.

On September 17, the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province and the People's Committee of Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat requested the leaders of TV Primary School to report the incident.

On September 20, Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, signed a document requesting competent authorities to strengthen food safety control at educational establishments in the area. At the same time, he requested competent authorities to conduct surprise inspections of food safety in school kitchens and strictly handle violations.
