American universities offer free tuition and special treatment for medical students

(Dan Tri) - In the US, some universities have exempted tuition fees for medical students, mainly thanks to the school's abundant charity funds.

Total tuition at medical schools in the US ranges from $155,000 to $250,000.

According to the 2022 statistics of the Association of American Medical Colleges for 17,000 students, currently, 75% of medical students in the US have to borrow money to pay for tuition or have living expenses. The average debt of a medical student after graduation is 200,000 USD.

Student debt varies depending on whether they attend public or private school, whether they study in their home state or in another state, whether they receive scholarships, etc.

The Albert Einstein College of Medicine launched this massive tuition waiver program thanks to a $1 billion donation from Ruth L. Gottesman, chairwoman of the school's board of trustees.

With this humanitarian program, the school hopes that students from disadvantaged families will be able to overcome financial challenges to pursue their dreams.
