On the afternoon of September 5 in Dong Nai , the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with Lac Hong University to organize the final round of the Southern Chinese Speaking Competition 2025.
This year's final round gathered 23 entries from 20 universities and colleges offering Chinese language training, with the participation of nearly 700 students.
According to the organizers, the contest consists of two parts: presentation (60 points) and talent (40 points).
In the presentation, many students chose topics close to cultural and social life, from music, books, history to the values of exchange between Vietnam and China. Some analyzed some Chinese literary works, some shared their experiences from their trips and perspectives on cultural differences, thereby showing maturity in language learning.
For the presentation, the judges evaluate the candidate's rigor, creativity, pronunciation, intonation, and confident, persuasive style.
As for the talent section, contestants are judged on content, technique and performance style. The talent section creates a vibrant atmosphere with a variety of artistic colors. Students bring music , dance, storytelling, and poetry reading in Chinese, demonstrating their creativity and confidence in front of a large audience.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Principal of Lac Hong University - emphasized that this is an outstanding academic and cultural activity, creating an environment for students from different schools to exchange, improve foreign languages and skills, and accumulate experience for their future careers.
From a diplomatic perspective, Consul Dam Linh Yen - representative of the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City - emphasized that 2025 is the 75th anniversary of the establishment of China - Vietnam diplomatic relations and is also the "Year of China - Vietnam Humanitarian Exchange". The contest is considered a practical activity to implement the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders, contributing to deepening bilateral humanitarian exchanges.
In addition to the competition, the Scholarship Fund for Students in Difficult Circumstances awarded 36 scholarships with a total value of more than 750 million VND, thanks to the support of more than 30 businesses, most of which are Chinese businesses operating in the South.
