Ta Van in Sa Pa is among the most beautiful 'hilltop villages' in Asia

Located about 12km from Sa Pa ward ( Lao Cai province), Ta Van is described as a "picturesque village" nestled in a lush green valley. This is home to the Giay and H'Mong ethnic groups.

Traditional stilt houses are scattered among terraced fields, surrounded by streams, waterfalls and rustling bamboo forests.

Unlike the hustle and bustle of Cat Cat village, Ta Van still maintains a slow pace of life. Visitors can rent a motorbike to explore the village, or simply follow the trail to watch the sunrise dyeing the entire valley yellow.

Besides Ta Van, some other prominent destinations on the list include Mae Kampong (Thailand), Hundar (India), Ella (Sri Lanka), Huangling (China) and Shirakawa (Japan).
