Strengthening cooperation between the Central region of Vietnam and Chinese localities

On the evening of September 23, the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang City held a reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of China's National Day (October 1, 1949 - October 1, 2025). Speaking at the ceremony, Acting Consul General of China in Da Nang Duong Thuan Phong expressed his gratitude for the attention and support of all levels, sectors and localities in the Central region for the development of Vietnam - China relations.

Mr. Duong Thuan Phong said that in 2025, the two countries will celebrate the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and jointly organize the "Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year".

In the economic field, in the first 7 months of 2025, the bilateral trade turnover between Vietnam and China reached 161.025 billion USD, an increase of 11.2%. China currently ranks first in the number of new investment projects with 695 projects; more than 3.1 million Chinese tourists came to Vietnam, accounting for 25.5% of the total number of international visitors, ranking first.

Cooperation and exchange between Chinese localities such as Shandong, Fujian, Shaanxi, Guangxi, Yunnan, etc. with provinces and cities in the central region of Vietnam are increasingly vibrant, achieving many results and cooperation agreements in the fields of economy, trade, friendship cities and cultural exchange.

At the ceremony, delegations from the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the People's Government of Liuzhou City and Chinese art troupes attended and introduced many creative cultural products including intangible cultural heritage and unique art performances.

In particular, tonight, September 24, a Chinese art troupe will perform in an exchange program at Trung Vuong Theater (Da Nang), celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations and the "Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year".

On this occasion, Mr. Duong Thuan Phong also congratulated the reforms and development achievements of the Central localities; in which Da Nang was approved to build a Free Trade Zone and International Financial Center, and Hue was approved to become a centrally-run city.

Mr. Duong Thuan Phong affirmed that, entering a new period, the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang is ready to work with localities and industries in the consular area to promote comprehensive cooperation, towards the goal of "6 more" (higher political trust, more substantive defense and security cooperation, deeper economic cooperation, more solid social foundation, closer multilateral coordination, better control of disagreements) to promote stronger development of cooperation and exchanges between the two countries in all fields...

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, emphasized that in the picture of Vietnam - China cooperation, Da Nang is proud to have been actively cultivating the friendship between the two countries.

Over the years, the city has maintained and expanded cooperation with Chinese localities such as Yunnan, Guangxi, Jiangsu, Shandong, Macau, etc. in many fields from investment, trade, tourism to education, cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy. Cooperation programs and delegation exchanges have brought practical benefits, contributing to enhancing understanding and strengthening friendship.

Mr. Ho Ky Minh highly appreciated the role of the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang in promoting cooperation between the city and Chinese localities and partners. At the same time, he expressed his belief that this agency will continue to promote its role, contributing to strengthening the connection and substantive cooperation between the central region of Vietnam and Chinese localities.
