Ho Chi Minh City has an additional medical facility worth more than 2,400 billion to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2nd.

On the morning of August 26, Ho Chi Minh City inaugurated the second campus of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine at Tan Kien Medical Complex, Tan Nhut Commune. This is one of the projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine Campus 2 is a grade I civil work belonging to group A project, located on a land area of 67,400 m2, with a total construction floor area of over 132,000 m2, with a total investment of over VND 2,425 billion from the city budget.

The project includes three main buildings and auxiliary items. The lecture hall, learning and training block is 10 stories high, with a total floor area (including basement) of 77,640 m2.

The administrative block, library and sports hall have 10 floors, with a total floor area (including basement) of more than 28,455.8 m2. The parking block has 8 floors, with a total floor area of more than 22,410.7 m2.

The unique feature of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine Campus 2 is 19 lecture halls with a capacity of 50 to 1,000 seats, 19 practice areas with full range of subjects. The facility ensures that students can access and practice a variety of skills in the medical field, meeting the teaching and learning needs of 4,000 students and trainees.

In addition, the school is invested synchronously with the traffic system, green landscape, sports area, creating a learning and living environment in harmony between nature and modern facilities. The facilities and public areas are fully and comfortably designed.

The technical system applies advanced technology to manage buildings, equivalent to a hospital.

Sharing at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Trong Hao, Chairman of the Board of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, said that Tan Nhut campus not only helps expand the scale of the school's operations but is also a strategic transformation, creating a solid foundation for Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine to develop in a modern and integrated direction.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, emphasized that this is an important milestone for the city's health sector in the journey to improve the quality of training and health care for the people.

According to the Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the decision to invest in a university with such a large total investment shows the city's special priority for the education and health sectors.

He expected Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine to effectively exploit the new facility, creating favorable conditions for training, research and clinical practice, making practical contributions to the strategy of developing high-quality medical human resources.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine was established in 2008, is a public university within the national education system, under the management of the organizational apparatus, the governing body is the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; the state management of education and training is the Ministry of Education and Training and the professional management is the Ministry of Health.
