On August 28, the Tax Department of District 7 - Nha Be District sent a document requesting the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to revoke the license to establish the American International School (AISVN).
According to the Tax Department of District 7, Nha Be District, AIS International Education Joint Stock Company - the investor of AISVN, owes more than 100 billion VND in taxes. The tax authority has applied many coercive measures such as withdrawing bank accounts, stopping the use of invoices, and temporarily suspending the exit of the head, but to no avail.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training decided to suspend the American International School for 12 months, starting from July 1, due to failing to ensure teaching conditions. However, the school has repeatedly informed parents that it is improving its operating conditions and will reopen soon.
During a meeting with the American International School on August 20, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Bao Quoc affirmed that AISVN has not yet met the conditions to resume operations. At the same time, the school is required not to organize any educational activities as prescribed during the suspension period. It is not allowed to conduct surveys to determine whether students will continue to study at the school or not.
