Speaking to the press, Mr. Chinh said that on the evening of October 7, after receiving feedback that students studying the school's national defense and security education course had to eat leftovers, the school organized a meeting with the student class studying national defense and security in the feedback (who had just finished studying) and the class that had only studied for one day, to grasp multi-dimensional information.

According to Mr. Chinh, each national defense and security education course has about 500 students. To quickly overcome the feedback, on October 8, Hanoi University of Science and Technology temporarily suspended the operation of the A15 cafeteria. Students studying national defense and security were transferred to the school's staff cafeteria for lunch and dinner.

"Looking at the images in the clip, first of all we determine that the direct responsibility belongs to the leadership for letting this happen.

The leadership has made a number of important decisions, such as drawing lessons from all related stages; decisively stopping the unit providing meal services for students studying national defense and security; assigning the student affairs office to monitor all activities related to students' meals, and proactively grasping students' feedback," said Mr. Chinh.

According to Mr. Chinh, the school's leadership was also very surprised by the reported information, because teachers from the National Defense and Security Department also had breakfast and lunch with the students, but unfortunately did not discover the incident in time.

Regarding the image of leftover bowls of soup being piled up, Mr. Chinh said that this is "unacceptable". The school will definitely handle it seriously and publicly with all groups and individuals to ensure the health of students when studying and living, helping parents, the community and society feel secure.

"The above incident has greatly affected the reputation of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, however the difficulty comes from the food supplier, not from the school directly organizing meals for students," said Mr. Chinh.

Require officers and lecturers to have lunch and dinner with students studying national defense and security

According to the representative of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, regarding the images of "foreign objects" appearing in food, the two times students reported that there were small cockroaches in the food was true. The explanation of the cafeteria representative was that the meat grinder had a cockroach crawling inside, the cafeteria received the feedback and handled it immediately.

"On official channels, the school has not received any feedback from students about the meals. Second, the medical center's periodic food safety inspections have not detected any problems.

"Every Thursday in the National Defense and Security course, there is a democracy class, but the students did not complain. That's why when there was a complaint about school meals, the school was very surprised," said a school representative.

Regarding the above incident, Hanoi University of Science and Technology has directed all teaching staff in the Department of National Defense and Security to directly have lunch and dinner with students. Students reflect on food containing "vitamin chit chit"

Some other students also told VTV24 about a student encountering "rotten" boiled eggs or food containing flies, "chit chit vitamin" - rat droppings...

On the night of October 7, Hanoi University of Science and Technology officially responded to this content.

Accordingly, Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that on the same afternoon, right after working with reporters of Chuyen Dong 24h about the content of the school's students' reflection on the meals of new students studying national defense and security education, the leadership of Hanoi University of Science and Technology conducted a comprehensive inspection of the organization of centralized meals and accommodation for students at the faculty of national defense and security education.

At the same time, convene a meeting of relevant parties to clarify information.

Through inspection, the working group noted that some information reported by the press was true, although the catering unit had provided explanations but they were not convincing enough.
