“Zorba the Cat Detective”: Colorful Vietnamese-Korean musical

The children's musical "Zorba - Detective Cat" is a collaboration between the Youth Theater (Vietnam) and SangsangMaru Theater (Korea), which has just officially launched after two years of careful preparation (2023 - 2024).

With a duration of 90 minutes, the play promises to bring a brilliant artistic experience to children and parents this summer.

Set in the cat kingdom of Iper ruled by Queen Freya, “Zorba the Cat Detective” tells the story of the investigation and peace- keeping journey of detective Zorba - a brave cat against the plot of overthrowing the prime minister Pitha. The love between Prince Ode and the cat Mimi from the human world becomes a knot leading to a series of thrilling events, creating a humorous and humane story about love, courage and the desire for peace.

The play was adapted from the original version that made a splash in Korea in 2015. This time, the musical “Zorba - Detective Cat” is invested in on a large scale with the participation of more than 30 performing and creative artists from the Youth Theater, in collaboration with 10 stage, music and technical experts from Korea. Famous artists such as Meritorious Artist Anh Tuyet, Meritorious Artist Nguyet Hang, and a talented young cast will contribute to bringing an attractive musical space in both content and form.

The smooth combination of music, acting, choreography, visual effects and modern stage techniques is the highlight of the play. The project follows the success of the musical “Child of the Goblin”, demonstrating the efforts of the Youth Theatre in bringing musical art closer to young audiences.

With the motto "Art without borders", the play "Zorba - Detective Cat" is not only an attractive summer gift for children, but also a vivid proof of the close artistic cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.
